Busa fault millages question??
My friend just bought a Busa and he's able to turn off the cluster by turning off the switch instaled by the previous old owner. He turned off the switch then went for a ride and when he turned back on the switch, the mileage did not change even though he did a couple of miles. Do you know if there is a way of knowing the real mileage of the bike other than with the cluster?
Thank's

I'm missing something OR you are asking a really dumb question.
Your friend bought the bike AND can turn off the ODO?
Yes?
If you are asking what I think you are, the chip is in the cluster. If it says X miles, thats all the bike knows.
Thats also why I would never buy an undocuemnted bike.
Receipts go a long way towards proving a bikes history.

if the speed signal was removed from the cluster there is no way the cluster will know what the true milage is .......
If your thinking the ECU is tracking it I highly doubt it since even the newest OBDII or CAN systems dont track milage unless they are pureposly told to do so for certian situations.
