LOUD YOSH MUFFLER QUESTION
I installed a new Yosh bolt on muffler about 1000 miles ago. The muffler now seems to be getting way louder than it was when I installed it. Is this normal?

I got an idea, if you wanna get straight to it. Drill out the rivets at the end of the muffler that bolts on. Take off the cap. Cut the inside tube off, remove all the baffling. Take the outer shell and cut it in half, put it back together and polish. It will drop about 5-7 lbs and be pretty loud when you get on it, but idle not too loud. Good thing is it wont get any louder then this. Looks cool with shorty pipe too. People always ask if i imported it from japan or something, im like its a D.O.C. custom.
Seriously though, the baffling does burn out, that why they can be repacked, i dont know how long it take, mine had about 4 k on it and id say 30-40% was burned when i modded it.

Yes this is my first after market exhaust on my bike. I figured it was a internal packing issue, but I did not expect it to happen so soon.

Me either! Depends on the QUALITY of the packing to begin with!
