High Volume Oil Pump Gear

From some of Entropy's data logging it was brought to my attention that at Idle and very low RPMs the 12's oil pressure seems to be rather lacking. With a built motor on the street and Idling in traffic along with occasional trips to the Mile and Quarter Mile strips I figure a little extra peace of mind was needed for me.

So, I just sent an oil pump gear and related parts to Robinson Industries to see about having a high volume one made, similar to the ones sold for Hayabusas. This gear will be similar to the Busa one which will spin the oil pump a little faster (maybe a little bonus on the water pump). Please Note that on some of the Busa sites this has been an issue of debate on any benefit. My brother has had one along with Schnitz's billet higher oil pressure valve and has had no issues with leaks around the oil filter and as far as we know there does not seem to be any probablems with cavitation.

With that being said, If anyone is interested I will post more after Mr. Robinson crunches some gear numbers.

It's a common practice to make the race pumps SMALLER (narrower) to reduce hp loss. There's plenty of oil to go around with the stocker. THe pressure is sufficient where it's needed, not so much when it's not.

I understand It is probably not really needed, and there have been a large number of properly build monster 12 motors that run perfectly normal and have been for well over 5+ years, but I just have to have something to mess with while my motor is down.

It might be a little while to get the info from Robinson as he has and is very busy at this time. I also do not think it would be much of an increase in pressure, maybe 10-15% depending on the number of teeth he is able to work with as they are not as fine as the Busas.
