Ten days...
and roughly 2500+ miles later...here's the toll:
1) great camping and riding in the seqouias with ddpete3
2) rode some awesome roads up in the northern Cal wine country
3) test rode a 95' 916 (w/Arrow pipes), an 01' Aprilia Falco (w/Devil high pipes...brutal sound)...an 00'Aprilia Mille with modded suspension (I like!)...a stock, but tired 00'RC-51 (wished they had an 02' to ride)...and my buddy's stock 01'ZRX-1200 (nice!)
4) picked up a glass shard @ 1500 miles in my new rear 010 that I mounted the day before the trip...flat, plugged, inflated, held air, went to roadrider in SanJose and bought a new 010 rear for $132 (I now have a patched 'emergency spare')
5) rode with Barry and his clean and immaculate yellow 12R...we got stopped by CHP cuz' Barry's bike was a little too clean for the young Jedi Officer(no license plate!)...he let us go (heh heh  )
6) left Barry's house in San Jose at 0745 hours and took the coast all the way down to San Diego thru LagunaSeca, BigSur (stopped many places for photo-opps and lunch), San Simeon, Cambria (stopped for coffee...chicks dig the faster green color! ), stopped at Slovang and at the vintage motorycle museum (cool place!), split L.A.s traffic (not a cool place to be when you're getting tired!), and pulled in at my buddy's house at 2130 hours for a birthday party covered in bug juice and road grime...a very, very long day in the saddle...13hrs/45mins later!
7) my Eclipse 'saddlepack' system held up and I'm ready for Laguna come July....WOOOHOOO!
I'll try to post some pics that I took with my new Toshiba digi-camera as soon as I figure it out (or when ddpete3 helps me )
