Broken inner fiber

Found a broken inner fiber plate tonight during routine inspection of my clutch while preparing for Maxton this weekend. Now I'm really glad I opened it up last minute! All the fibers were completely dry, even the steels. The little bit of oil in the photo is from where I touched it when pulled it out (changed the oil at the same time).
I don't understand why everything was so dry considering I've done all the clutch mods (Muzzys kit) and billet basket too. Anyone else ever had a fiber break like this?
This time I soaked the fibers in Mobil1 75W synthetic gear oil.

I've had it happen many times (usually the clutch is working fine too). Just last week I replaced the thin plate and spring with a normal plate. I was hopeing it would stop the plate from breaking. The clutch was grabby at the track, so I have to pull it apart again and check it out. I doubt the thicker plate made it grabby. I too have all the clutch mods. The clutch plates will always be somewhat dry, it only takes a little bit of oil to keep them from burning up.
