do newspapers even employ fact checkers anymore?!?

Florida is among the last two states not requiring motorcycles to be insured. Teens and young adults faced with paying more than $2,000 a year for car insurance can ride an exhilaratingly fast bike insurance-free.

if this is accurate... then how fucked up is that?

You have to have at least $10,00 medical coverage if you ride without a helmet. I almost always wear my helmet (99% of the time) .I am from fla.
I think someone should have the right to not wear a helmet if that's what they choose. I have run from the fucking speed nazis quite a few times ,but only around my hometown where i know the roads very well. I hold my speed down in town and drive slow around neighborhoods especially when kids are around.
Motorola will eventually get me but i don't believe they'll be catching me with the harleys they ride where i live or any of the cars(fuck them camaros)!

If you read the artlcle Carefully, it looks like the "Most" Dangerous thing the guy did was buy a "Power Commander"

Alright, this is a little spooky. I just bought my '04 zx12 from a Sheriff in St. Lucia County, FL. When I asked him why he was selling it, he said "I just don't trust myself anymore, I know that if I keep ridding this bike I'm gona lose it"

Didn't know that there were only 2 states left that didn't require motorcycle insurance

Does it really matter that he was a cop? Maybe by him being a cop he should know better? Or he should have seen enough death on the roadway to think twice? Is that the point??

If that was the case wouldn't you think Doctors and nurses would have seen enough Cancer to NOT smoke??

Stupid people do stupid SHIT! SORRY but running extreme speeds with nothing LESS than 100% clear roadway and 100% clean line of sight is STUPID!! and you get what we read here today.

He was a member of the ZRX board. Nice guy from what I've heard. I didn't know him but some close friends did. RIP.

That was a suicide, cops have one of the highest rates for doing themselves in.

According to Matts (Madkaws) mom , he was indeed wearing a helmet, not that it would've made any difference in this case. It got knocked the hell off and launched up the road.
