Check out on a member here.
Hi people,
i am a fellow zx12r rider from Singapore, a faraway place from USA, i will be purchasing some stuffs from a member here , Oldkawaboy. But due to some reasons, he do not have a Paypal account and request me to send him Money order, cashier check or personal check. As i only use Paypal, the most secure method for my overseas purchases so far, this is the first time i be doing a money transaction using other methods. So with permission from Oldkawaboy, anyone here can vouch for his trustworthy value before i send over the money? No offence but money is money.
Thanks all.
Jeremy

Jeremy,
I would trust oldkawboy 1000%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But make sure it is spelled oldkawboy, NOT Oldkawaboy, as you have above.
Do you hang with Fred (jaws12R)?? If so, how is his 1375 going?
The last time i was in Singapore I went to the shop where he was having it built, then we went for many beers at long beach but haven't heard much from him lately.

Oldkawboy is okay ... nothing to worry about.. long time member...
BUT... It STILL continues to baffle me when members dont have a Paypal account....
Guys... use Paypal... this isnt "internet 1999" .... It's a LOT of extra work to ask a guy on the other side of the planet to pay extra $$$ to go down to his banl to get a draft when, with a few clicks, the paypal thing is instant.
just my 2 $ werth

You won't find a better more honest person walking the earth than Oldkawboy (Dan)!! As I stated in the post at .org to you when I directed you to the parts you were looking for and he is selling. I live in the same town as Dan and I would trust him with my bank card and pin number. Actually selling you those parts is a lot of extra troubles for Dan. He has another man that lives 3.5 hours away that is begging to buy them, BUT Dan being a man of his word is giving you first shot because you contacted him first. THe easy thing for him to do you be to sell those parts to Brett and NOT have to deal with all the shipping. But again Dan is a man of his word.
Don't worry about it anymore you're dealing with a man that is solid and reliable..

Fish my business partner got his PayPal hacked somehow and got basically robbed. The person or persons that did it were in some third world hell hole country and NOT much could be done. I canceled mine the next day.

gunner... I think your friend's experience with Paypal is the minority... anyone can have their account anywhere hacked, esp if they are not good with online security and open phishing emails etc. That's not Paypal's problem.

Actually I owe OldKawboy and Race4it a "T" SHirt I have been to lazy to ship out! SO yes he is very trust worthy I sent him an ECU for Free to make sure he did not need one! and he worried me to death to send it back to me and I was never worried
I actually trust Pay Pal a LOT less than Dan. They took money out of my Bank account when they were supposed to use a Credit card and it took me over a month to get my money back from them!

I've been using paypal for 6 years for ebay, no problems. I resisted verifying a bank account for a long time, finally I just gave them an account that I don't keep any money in . It is tedious when paying in paypal to select "other payment options" every time just to use your credit card rather than auto debit out of your bank account. there is no way to make your credit card your primary account. paypal obviously makes more money without having to pay visa fees.
one solution would be a Bidpay account. I set one of those up in minutes to pay a seller who was having trouble with paypal

not to threadjack...
Fred,
Yep, be careful about clearance on the strokers, even more so with Carrillo's.
# 4 rod hits the lower case and #2? or is it #3? hits the starter gear. You need to clearace in both instances!
I have a new job and won't be getting back to Sing too soon.
Damn shame! The crabs are calling me! Yes, the ones at Orchard Towers, AND the ones at long beach
