New Guy - Clutch Question

I'm new to the ZX12r.....picked up an 02, full muzzy stainless, pc3r, 17/46 gears, haven't checked for ignition advance yet. I'm blown away by the performance of this incredible bike! absolutely runs like a raped ape, and handling isn't bad for a 550 lb machine.

I bought it with 3,000 miles on the clock. Previous owner said he was selling it cuz it scared him to death. He said he never raced it. I've put 4,000 miles on it before storing for the winter. I've never raced it, and generaly ride pretty easy.

I have been doing a lot of research on the bike, a lot on this site and zx-12r.org, trying to figure out what upgrades I want to do this winter. One thing I'm a little concerned about is the clutch. I've felt what I thought was wheel spin, but after reading about the zx12 clutch, I'm starting to think maybe it is the clutch slipping. I'm assuming it is a stock original clutch. My questions:

Is there some test I can do to determine if the clutch really is slipping?
Is there a way to tell the condition of the clutch by viewing through the oil filler hole, or do I need to pull the cover and inspect each plate?
If I pull the cover, do I have to replace the gasket everytime?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Rob

The first thing I would check is the cable adjustment. To inspect the clutch stack you need to remove the cover, and the gasket will need replaced.
