Does anyone balance it?
I came across this on one of these forums and was just curious if anyone sends there flywheel in to get balanced? If yes, do they do it with it on the crank or spin it up seperate? Any pros and cons?
Thanks,
Gary

I have thougth about doing it off of the crank, but I have never done it... I was going to try and lighten it...
I have a bad one, and I wanted to see how thin I could go...

if you want to be sure to have a good balance, do it with and on the crank

MM were you going to static balance or dynamic balance it? How were you going to lighten it? Do they balance it like a crank and just drill out some metal?
After my last flywheel went I am kind of scared to even touch it!!!!

After what happened to Gary, I would be hesitant to cut on the flywheel; good luck to stef!!!
I've never had my crank balanced with the rotor/flywheel on the crank. Never thought of it.

I spun mine up with and without the flywheel. Didnt have any effect. The flywheel is also neutral balanced.
So you dont need to put it on the crank to balance the crank. The flywheel should be balanced allready.
