2000 12 NEW TO THE BOARD
To All, I've read a few posts from this board and I like the info on here. Lemme bring y'all up to speed on who I am and such. I've been riding since 2001. My first bike, a 1999 ZX11 that I still own. I also have a 2000 RC51 that I intend to road race one day. But the reason I'm on here is my 2000 12 that I picked up a little over a month ago. It is the replacement for my over-the-road bike, the ZX11. I ride with a sport bike club here in Paterson, NJ and I needed another bike to keep up (if not pass) the 'busas and such. My mods so far are the Muzzy's full system and a PC3. I Have a full Muzzy on the 11and couldn't see not having one on the 12. I intend to do some BMC filters later on. I will be using fully sythetic oil and I just put the exhaust on so while I have the rad off I went to my local shop and ordered an aluminum fan. My bike (like most other early models) runs hot. Also, the less I have to go back under those plastics the better. I intend to keep the engine and gearing stock for the most part because I will be riding the bike long distance. If I get streetable 170-175 RWHP I will be happy. I also did away with my stock horns so that I can set up an air horn system not in the tail but the front of the bike. It may take some time and fabrication but I like to be heard. Here in my area, people jump lights and stop signs and I need to scare them back into place. Future mods also incude a double bubble windscreen and 02+ mirrors. Long-winded I know but I tried not to leave anthing out, lol.

Thank you all for your replies and love. I had a friend who worked in a dealership out in Brooklyn. I told her to let me know when a 12 comes in. This one came in and I jumped right on it. It had everything on it when I got it. As of today, it has a black double bubble instead of the green windscreen. No stickers on the tail of the jester and it is a lot cleaner. It had 12k on it when I picked it up. I paid $4995 for it. The bike has a lot of potential in it. I plan to be on it for a few years unless that 14 really starts calling me. Other than that, this bike does what I need it to do and for half the price of a new bike. It is MY new bike. Now if I can lose those dolly parton mirrors and get some britney spears joints on there I will be happy, lol.

So good in fact that even the 14 mirrors look like them and you can still see the "Man" Coming!

I am the guy who hosted the bike show portion of Del's July Fry back in July. My club had a tent out there and everything seeling t-shirts and such. We are also in Cycle dreams magazine over it. I bought my first bike from Del, the 1999 ZX-11 back in 2001. He rebuilt the engine in it and here I am 35,000 miles later on it. Del used to work on half of my old club's bikes - the Pioneers. I know Del well obviously, lol. I plan to make the 11 my bullshit drag bike and he may have a hand in that. I will more than likely host the 2007 July Fry bike show. Del pimps me because I am a prominent figure in the black sport bike community, lol. I am also the founder of a yearly function called the PRO Convention. www.proconvention.com.

I definitely will do a search. If I can't find some 2002 mirrors I wanna know what's the best aftermarket set up I can get. I read something about LP having ones with the directionals in them but I went on the site and can't find them. I will be there at Del's. If you get a chance, swing by the tent. I'll give you a Hot Commodities t-shirt, lol.
