Muzzy MMS Harness!

Personally, this is very exciting!

quote:
By the way, the production MMS harnesses are being built right now. We are waiting for one more plug from across the pond. I thinking you'll have yours in two weeks.
It will cost $199.95 and it is TOTALLY plug and play.
Doug

What this means is for those who are building a motor that operates outside the bounds of the stock computer can completely replace the stock ECU with the Muzzy MMS. This is a much more complete solution than a Yosh box or a PC III / IIIr. I've preached about the MMS before, and am very excited to be able to relate my experiences with it to you. Look forward to a running dialog and lots of pics as it goes in!

It's been a long project for Muzzy, in developing this. Originally, the MMS was going to supplement the stock ECU. Bt as more and more functions were moved over to the MMS, it became clear that the stock ECU wasn't going to be required anymore. Was it worth the wait? I think so, as it's going to be used at Bonneville in this year's attempt by Team Performance Dyno on the Production record.

swft,
please keep us updated on this one: YOU ARE THE GUINEA PIG!

I am definitely interested, mostly for the purpose of extending the redline...

BTW: just to make sure there is no miss-understanding. $199.95 is for the wiring harness, the MMS is a grand...

Will do! I'm not really the guinea pig, per se...The development has been taking place amongst all the other efforts that Muzzy has going on. Course, you could say I am the FCS (First Customer Ship), which is a form of experiment. Can't wait!

Price is a important factor. Best thing to do is to evaluate if you really need the MMS. The Yosh box is gonna give you shift cut, I consider the map toggle a gimmick, really. The MMS gives you shift cut, roll control, boost control, nitrous stage control, traction control, etc...

Map toggle is gonna be real handy when your out driving the bike around and decide u want to spray the nitrous. Just flip the switch and you can load a nitrous map on the fly.

$995 + $200 for the harness.

A good comparison would be the several thousand dollars that a tuner spent on HRC harnesses and a racing ECU for a Honda RC51. And it didn't work!

zxlnt - Your point is well taken...How you gonna *stage* that nitrous? Oh, yer not! Just 'dump and go'... The MMS has discrete outputs settable by rpm. Ie; can kick off first stage at 3500, second stage at 7500, etc...

Sorry Doug M, I meant Doug at Spencer!! I haven't ordered direct, yet. Doug at Spencer has been a great supplier of all my Muzzy goods so far. If he fails me, I will be calling, though.
