Crash Protectors

Where do crash protectors mount on the 12? Do you have to drill holes or what? Any pics?

Yeah their made. But they're basically "tip-over" protectors as they attach with a little 5mm longish bolt to the main lower attachment point on each side. They would certainly break off in any tip over or crash.

They cost $69.95 @ my local KAW dealer; I did not buy them due to the shoddy looking construction. They look like a standard "black" frame slider...

Next time I'm over there I'll try to get the vendors name.

I was looking at the attaching points for the bodywork. On both sides, a new mount could be made to accept a longer, thicker bolt that would provide much better support for a slider. Since the mount would attach via the two bolts to the engine, if you snapped off the bolt holding the slider, no biggie, just unbolt the mount from the engine and fix/swap it out. I'm pretty sure you could do it for both sides.

They are P/N 11051 and 11051D. Stealer wants $8 for the left, and $10 for the right.
