Has anyone out there gathered any data on what the EGT increase (if any) actually IS when nitrous is used in a properly (A/F ratio) tuned engine? Anybody got any data?
Just askin'....

I can only read my #4 cylinder and usually I try to keep the EGT between 1350 and 1450 F I usually start the run with a lean spike of between 13,5 t5o 14 to 1 and it quickly drops to 11 to 1 and then ends up about 10,5 to 1. I also run extra fuel in the Zero Throttle position mapping to run a lot of fuel in after a run to cool things! This creates a nice Flame out of the back of the exhaust that looks "Cool" and is Cooling
When I "Went for Broke" (and was Successful) and forget to add fuel pressure after I added NOS Pressure I saw 1800 F and almost 18 to 1 A/F
I may know late tomorrow just how much melting this much heat can do

Karl, I dunno. My buddy gets excelent pricing on ferrea and uses them a lot. Whats the cost diff between the two?
Doug, I can dig up some numbers from my buddy. But I think its more of a time issue than actually a degree issue. As in the duration and intensity of the exhaust gas as well as velocity. I'm not a nos guy, but theres an SAE paper on it.
