tire size question
so i dropped my bike at the dealer this afternoon for some service and a new front tire. i only need half a new tire cause i plan on getting a new pair when the current rear wears out. now late this eve, i find out my buddy has got a 207 (like in the back) with about 50% wear left that he can give me, saving me a chunk o money. BUT...it's a 120/60. my other choice is a near new dunlop d202 (i think?) with a patch that the dealer worked out for me. i'm poor right now so i want the free tire. however, i'm a little concered about the profile. i seem to remember others here (redelk?) had tried 65 series tires and thought they stunk. so a 60 would really be a handful. this so? if it's gonna be dangerous, i'd rather use the right sized (tho mismatched) d202. gotta phone them tomorrow morn and let them know. thoughts?

That 202 is probably a 204 and i think they both will work fine.Your always falling down on you bike anyway.

I'm not sure how you ride dude, but if your a twisty rider, & you like leaning it to the max, you WILL drag the fairing with the 60 series. Mine drags easily, & all I did is go to a 190 rear. A friends drags too, & he just put on a 65 on the front to quicken steering...
If you don't charge the corners it will probably will work ok enuf to get you to the next tire change. I'd keep the speed down in 6th gear if you get the patched tire...

thx fer the suggestions folks. i think i'll skip the 120/60. called dealer this morning and he recommended against it, rather strongly. and this from a guy that has no problem mix and matching. that combined with the negative experiences here is enough to make me just say no.
