Doc...........That 10R has stock pistons and that my friend is what makes the 10 fall into the stock catagory.... The head has been cleaned up ONLY and he has his own valve spring package in the motor.. The history of this bike has been discussed as it progressed over at 10R.net.. This bike didn't just fall out of the thin air.. It has a history of progression.. It makes use of every Hp that it has..

STOCK "SIZED" PISTONS! NOT FACTORY STOCK Kawasaki Pistons!~

The rest I agree and they did use a very small shot of NOS I never asked how much but figured it was 30 or less

vincent.. they are the factory cast pistons i promise you.. the head was off 1 time 3 months ago to run the 9/10ths.. little by little we tweaked it faster and faster and then got the aero parts.. we had no need to change pistons.. iceman told me the bike would be lucky to do 196 in 9/10ths.. little by little i got more and more for the bike and it just kept picking up speed until we hit 199.2 on gps at home and it wasnt even dialed in all the way..

once we broke the last record of 198 with a 205mph w/o nos i went back to the pits and the owner of superbikesupply.com along with his friend stood there when i pulled tank off and the airbox to install the muzzy kit.. not to mention several others from different camps came around when i pulled the airbox. we did not even do the motor runs with the kit on the bike because it causes to much airbox obstruction.. brad helped me install the kit, change the rear sprocket, install the lines and bottle and then we went out and ran 208mph barely tapping the button in 6th.. i didnt want to risk the motor cause i wanna come home and run the 9/10ths.. we never had time to test the NOS at home or i would have had iceman hold the button all thru 6th.. we guessed on timing and fuel and put the smallest jet the kit came with.. i just wanted the records and thats it..

Where has this been documented? The owner of the bike has posted that they are stock Kaw pistons...I am trying to get a pm from him verifying this...I trust these guys as being 100% straight-up and honest....

They only ran a 15 shot of nos...I was standing there and watched them install the bottle, and I asked about the amount of spray.

sorry if i forgot your name bro but were you the guys standing there with brad when i pulled the tank and airbox off?? if so you saw me install the lines in the box, to the solenoid and the bottle.. the bike didnt have the kit installed til the last run..

we hope to see you there... i also wonder what the 1.5mm busa might have done had we put the nitrous on it..

if i recall your the guy who said " why dont you 9/10ths guys come up to maxton and prove yourself".. i guess 1st time out 8 records on 9 passes pretty much seals the deal on that one..

Deezul, it seems like there are a few people out there who feel that you're speed doesn't "count" unless it's done at a "sanctioned event". Generally, these people are close minded and will say anything to discredit and belittle anyone who doesn't conform to their specific standards.

As you stated, there have been people over the years who've disregarded the 9/10th's as being nothing more than "Backyard street racing" with no legitimacy or structure. Just a bunch of squids that get together and pin the throttle open and lie about their top speeds...

Hopefully, after seeing what THEICEMAN did at Maxton, people will begin to understand that we take our 9/10th's racing EXTREMELY seriously and actually have bikes that can murder the current records set by guys who are seen as "the best of the best" in the country.

From what I understand, never in the history of LSR events has someone set 8 records in one event, especially not his FIRST ever event. Not too bad for a "Backyard Street Racer", eh?

To Phantom Menace If you want more rpm you'll have to wait for RR
to complete the BLUEFORD box.

To Y2k as far as state of tune the 10r comes with 12.7 to 1 compression vs 12.2 to
1 for the 12r. Food for thought the zx6rr comes with 13.9 to 1 compression
stock! So as far as states of tune you have to consider compression, camming,
ignition and rev limit.

DEEZUHL, Then I got it wrong! I do not know who I was speaking to but we were talking about JE and CP Pistons and it sounded like JE were the Pistons he was using even though the CP were better and he knew it. "Maybe it was ANOTHER Bike that had the JE he was referring to??"

How ever you slice it, the Bike ran very Seriously and as far as I am concerned wheather it was stock or JE made no difference because there is only so much a "Piston" can do in performance unless you spray a Big Shot! and I KNOW they were spraying small because a 4 or 5 MPH Increase in speed we always figured took about 12 to 15 HP and that proved it!

Hello Vincent.
That was me you were talking to about my Busa, I said I had John Noonan at JE piston
make me up at request to my specs a special order 1.5 mill over piston kit for my Busa.
As far as the zx10 goes, I had the head off, never touched the rest of the motor, had done my own porting to specific measurements on the intake and exhaust custom valve spings from Japan, kawi int cam, a few custom parts, real world tune, and gas tank. and rode the bike to the best of my ability.
I told Deezuhl this little bike is fast and there will be doubters if someone has a problem
and wants to protest thats fine we can use the gas money.
Same goes for when we come back.
Sal.

Spoken like a man that knows what he's talking about

I with you Vince 110%!!!!!!

It wouldn't matter either way... The class rules say 1000cc!! PEROID!!

AND why do they NOT care in the rule book about what piston brand?? BECAUSE it don't mean SHIT!!!!!!!!!! It's the motor size that get's check NOT the piston manufacture

Some of these guys need to spend some time racing in something like WKA 5hp BOX STOCK Briggs class........ They will learn real fast how far the words BOX STOCK can be stretched

SAL!! That all sounds correct to my Old Memory! I "KNOW" you stated that "YOU" had done "YOUR" own style of Port work on the head and that the ENgine had not been Bored. But when we started talking about Pistons, and out Mutual Feelings about JE vs CP I knew that second you were too sharp to lean against (I would Bleed to death )

I Apologize for the mistake because the conversation was more about Pistons than the ZX10 and when you said that you "could not stop people from using them in their Bikes" to me that meant the ZX10 also!

Again, Beautiful Work and as I mentioned to you I loved the Gas Tank!

To Gunner:

I already said pound for pound the zx10r is a better motor.. Its plus 7mm bore gives the 12r more torque but not more peak horsepower. For the zx14 its plus 350cc doesn't necessarily translate into higher top speeds.,. There are more factors involved. Has anybody measured
the efficacy of the ram air on the 10r?

YES the 10R has been checked...ICEMAN has all those numbers.. What Sal done on the 10R was NO fluke by any means.. That guy worked his ass off tweaking that bike. He tunes real world as well.. He makes laps and a lot of them...

It's just that the 10R has never been a serious contender for top speed events. Most folks look at liter bikes as squirt and go bikes. These evens that just happened will change that opinion.

we measured the airbox a while back and i cant recall exactly at which rpm it made what.. but it remember it held around .80 of pressure pretty steady to redline.. its more efficient then the 04-05 and i beleive it had better #'s than the gixxer.. iceman has all the data, ill tell him to post up..

It's all good.
If everybody liked the same thing, it'd being a boring world. The 10's are serious machines and have proven their mettle in the twisties, drag racing and LSR.

Gunner nobody is going to cut your balls off for telling us about a very fast zx10...I love the fact that a zx10 went that fast and that shows the Gixxer guys a thing or two about the zx10..... BUT that's no reason to High Jack my thread. My thread is about how you like your new zx14 and did it live up to the hype....NOBODY said anything about a zx10 till you posted!!!!!!!! ... Get it !
