Yeah, I'm in the same boat. My 12R is seven years old, with 37,000 miles. Although it still runs great and is in excellent shape, it doesn't make sense to sink a ton of cash into it that I'll never get back out, and still not be able to make a really good track bike out of it.
I'm going to hang on the old gal for another couple of years then start looking.
Shoot, I'm thinking about going all the way down to a 600-class bike for fun duty, and just getting a dual-sport for commuting.
