Maybe TOO Much of a GOOD thing?? DO not lose Patience!

I had the Bike on the Dyno tonight and was dialing in the NOS. 220 HP 600 psi, 230 HP 650 psi, 240 HP 700 psi ,250 HP 750 psi 260 HP 800 psi! Hell I am tired of this process and removed the NOS Pressure Controller! WOW The HP Spiked straight up and was at 280 at about 9,000 RPM and BOOM!!!!!!!

I have no idea what I hurt! The Bike is running, lost about 10 HP on top end where it sputters.

I may have done in a Spark Plug (I Hope )

I may have Pushed out a Head Gasket (2nd Hope)

I may have slightly bent a Valve (3rd Hope)

I may have bent a ring (No Hope)

Anyway I will have it apart tomorrow night and take a compression test to see where the problem is if the Spark plugs are all good! Even Old people just plain get tired of Messing around and you cannot do that! Now I will take Thursday & Friday off to ge things done and leave it at a safe 800 to 850 PSI for about 270 to 275 HP and test more later (If I can get it running correctly!)

At least I have PLENTY of NOS Now!!

I already had Minus 6 degrees of Timing retard to begin with!

I May know more tonight after a compression test!

This is "NOW" not the problem with me going to Maxton! SOmething a LOT More Serious! Peggy's Mom "WAS" on Life Support but last Saturday the Tube was removed because she was doing better. (Originally broke her leg near her hip and developed pneumonia)

After wanting a McDonalds Hamburger on Saturday then Shrimp on SUnday, SHe wanted nothing to eat on Monday and started down Hill. We will not re-insert the tube so it is sink or swin and we were all out there ALL Last night.

Ali will understand when I state I drove to Manassas to take Peggy there about 11 PM Last night. Then 3 am I went home in DC Unloaded the Van and put the ZRX Back in it and drove the van back to Manassas then Took the Bike out and rode back to DC between 6 and 7 AM this Morning in Rush Hour traffic (Did I mention that I forgot to take the Mirrors and sould see nothing behind me?)

For this reason I do not think I will go to Maxton! Randall is also out there because He is her Heart PERIOD!

Specially when the Graph is going almost straight UP! Like a Big Turbo! I only want to make them at the Track!!

As someone said You just cannot be too greedy! The Graphs at 260 were "Straight across" the top with no dips so I had the power for about 3,000 RPMS!

A Side note I was having some problems with the Data Logger showing an Error! Maybe the O2 Sensor needs cleaning or replacement since I use heavy leaded fuels

VH, I understand. Traffic around here (66) is a B_TCH! I'll probably skip Maxton this weekend...hope things work out for the best w/fam.....

....We'll hit up Maxton in October! I may need to pick your brain some as I'm now very confused if I want to go lower compression nitrous or say to hell with it and go turbo....you know how $$$$ can be.....

SHIP, either way with Big SPray or Turbo the "Motor" Needs to be built the same way! It is the Extra Equipment that changes! (WHen or If I even get this done I plan to Supercharge.

You also may want to put in a good set of Forged Pistons with thicker DOmes and keep the compression you have and spray a 100 shot for about 275 HP but a Better run through the Lower Gears!

I'm very sorry to hear this. I know it's disappointing and another set back in a long line of set backs for you.

But maybe now you can stop, take a step back, and go with the K.I.S.S. method like I suggested years ago.

Here's what can be done with a keep it simple dry setup on C16 with a standard high compression 1290cc pistons. Imagine what could be done on your lower C/R setup!

Even a stock motor will make 260+ on a dry kit.

I'd say may not so much try to shoot for the stars with that big setup you have, and shoot for something more realistic and get some actual seat time on something that works (for now anyway).

Again, sorry to hear about the problems. I was hoping this was your season.

That's my Lee's 1290 bike, BTW. Should see Maxton or possibly TX Mile in October, depending on if I still have a job at that time or not.

Bergie, In my case the things that have happened may have happened anyway because the last 2 things were the 3 foot NOS Line and the NOS SOlenoid! Maybe the Lord is trying to keep me away from 200+ because "I" think it is wrong to do it on Saturday?? That is why I am only racing on SUndays now. I need to print out a Graph to show that my Rag is making the 260 to 270 HP "Straight" Across the Board as opposed to being a curved Graph

Now it is Stubborn and nothing else. SO little energy to work on my Rag and even less time! Not spending real money because the Dyno is No charge and the Cost of NOS is not that bad either. I can promise you this that if I cannot get it to work "MY" Way before the end of this year I am going to something else Period.

The only good news here is I now have a lot more knowledge than I ever planed to or even wanted. I wanted to do this and Stay Stupid in the Process. Just did not work out! I am now a Year behind where I wanted to be!

ALive Again and I can compare notes! (This year the ZRX 1100 took valueable time but I enjoyed that! The New Van and the work there was simply a Necessity and then more time on my Rental Property HAD to be done then the Trip to SA could not miss that so I have ACTUALLY WOrked on that Bike for a total of 8 weekends THIS YEAR which is just not enough to do what had to be done! One other thing is when I am finished, No one will be able to say to me that I did not deserve it or I paid someone else for it or used an existing design. Maybe not a good thing but that is what it is.

Bergie I also appreciate your support and before it is all over I may be sending you something that Bear made that will totally eliminate all of the problems you ever had with your clutch (On me)

Vincent,
Please let Peggy know that we will remember the family in our prayers. The Good Lord doesn't make mistakes.
We will miss you at Maxton, just not the same without you there but it sure is understandable. I'm planning on riding over Friday morning, running the old beater in the touring mode and hopefully riding it home Monday.
We'll make a toast to you at Captain Larrys Saturday night! :-)
Take care my friend,
Dan

I Know you of all people understand.

She has not left us yet and today she pulled out her feeding tube and asked Peggy if she had her house keys! Another up to the roller coaster. The only real problem is she cannot swallow easy and that is the #1 reason for the Feeding tube. Hopefully they will figure that out also. It is a long Grind!

Thanks Dr. Gary I always know where you stand on things and it is like having another family member knowing you! Of course there are quite a few people on this board that I feel that way about starting with Dan and on down the line with all of the help Bergie gave me to start and bringing extra NOS Bottles and a Place to Post my Pictures! All good people here and they wonder why I like the internet!

WOW! I have heard from some of my "Family" Now from one of my Hero's One of the few people that truly has been through ALL of it and Several Times. You are 100% correct of course Family and then the Bike (I was going to say Pleasure but it is not always that!) I have been careful and used Patience and finally lost it and hurt something. A Lesson Even I knew the answer to but added more than I thought was wise but wanted to see the Limit and found it!

In a few weeks I will know the extent of the problem and fix it and just do more testing then on the dyno for verification and Make the October event!

I really appreciate the Words Joe Amos
