fuel injectors, fuel filter: anyone had problems?
I don't think I'm having problems, but I'm going into the motor again and wanted to hear if anyone has encountered a situation I could make a pre-emptive stirke on.
Like, is it worth replacing injectors before they outright fail? Does the fuel filter ever get clogged?
Any input would be much appreciated.

If you're concerned about injectors you can have them tested cleaned and flow measured for about $5 each. I wouldn't replace them without justification. As for the fuel filter; just replace it once a year they are not expensive.

Where's that at RAC??? The standard price is about $24 per injector... $5?? Let me know where!!
Carl, Ive used http://www.injector.com/ with success before. Pretty friendly and fast turnaround.
A few others have used Russ Collins. http://www.rceng.com/
Both are equally proficient and prices are about the same. They clean the injectors ultrasonically. GIves you a before and after printout of the injectors performance. Very handy!!

thx guys,
Like I said above, I am not having problemsd now, just wanted to know if "preventative maintenance" was called for. Busa guys apparently have filters at the injectors which they remove to prevent problems and I was wondering if 12's had a similar issue.

I'm at 33k miles when I had my bike down for maintenance recently I went looking for a filter to change. All I could find was the in-tank filter. which was very clean. An external examination of the injectors showed them to be equally clean, even after all those miles. Since the bike runs very well, I decided to leave it at that.
