What do I think????

I think you need to lay the crackpipe down and regroup for a second. No offense to Travis, but it's a BIG step from a 250 Ninja up to a 12R. Remember you crawl, walk, and THEN you run. Don't fuck up and leave a step out, I'd atleast let her get some seat time on a 600 first. Then I'd still be cautious about her getting on a 12R.

LET HER DRIVE IT HARRY!

And you can ride on back with your long blonde hair flowing in the breeze, until the guy on the busa pulls along side her and she tromps on it to race him and you fly off the back and are laying in the street crying so hard your mascara runs.

on second thought, maybe she should try a 600 first. ;-)

You may need to buy another 12...

I say let her ride it in a big empty parking lot!!!

But then I say no, because she will like it and want a 12 of her own!!! Now you will have to spend another 10Gs!!!

Interesting responces

I keep flashing back to when I let my 1st wife ride my suzuki 125c motocrosser.I explained everything to her and stressed to whatever she did not to open the throttle wide open as it had a very explosive powerband. She starts off ok then for some reason pins the throttle.I was yelling to let off the throttle (before it came up on the pipe) but she froze.I was running as fast as I could to try and catch her but too late , the front wheel launched up in the air and she jumped the curb out onto the paved street in front of my house. Thank goodness no cars were coming, she went to the other side of the road and grazed the curb and went down. She got scraped up a little but was otherwise ok.She never wanted to ride any of my bikes again.I was most concerned for her safety as I am with travis.Travis will do ok if I let her ride my 12.I'm not talking a blast up to 183 or anything. Thanks for the replies.Anybody else have an opinion?

You might as well let her ride it. Maybe she could turn some fast times with it, you fat fuck. At least the oil will be getting circulated.

If this is just a case of 'what's mine is yours' thing going on, forget it. I agree that a 600 would be a much better place to start. We all started with smaller bikes before moving up to da big ones. Not a case of someone needing to pay the dues, but is a case of someone needing experience.

My wife knows how much my bike means to me and wouldn't do anything to break it. If she wanted to ride it, I know she would be extra careful. Of course, it's easy for me to say. My wife has never ridden and therefor I will not be in your position anytime soon.

been there done that!

my wife rides, use to ride her gs700 many years ago, now she rides my bike about once a year. Well you can see it coming.
Time for her ride and i have my NEW 12 with about 2K miles.
I say no way baby. she ask again.
I say Hell no. she ask again, (married men understand)
I say ok, BUT if you drop it keep going, i don't want
to see it or you again.(hoping to scare her off)
She says ok. and rides off into the sunset.
after a Looong 10 mins later she returns with a
BIG ASS GRIN , first thing she says is this thing is fast.
Bike is fine wife still lives with me.

Good luck

wife riding the 12

Well last year I let my wife take mine for a spin. She was riding her GPZ750 just fine so I figured "What the hell". Boy was that a mistake. She rode it well and liked it a lot. I kept getting harrassed all the time. Can I take out today? How about if I just go to the store with it? If your not using it how about me? After a while of saying no i finally broke down and bought her a ZX9R of her own with the understanding that I don't ride hers she doesn't ride mine. See, in the long run it will cost you money somehow.
I got to say though it's nice having her ride with me.
