whooped a zx14 tonight with my 2000 zx12r. both bikes with pipes and commanders . also nailed a Harley dragbike with a wheelie bar..........went to the dragstrip tonight.have'nt been for a year. only made 3 pass's cause the cars kept blowing up.the zx14 guy said he use to own a turbo busa. i think he knows power a little bit.

Nothing wrong with the 12s...They will hang with the 14 for a longtime!!!

Lets see some 9.60s and 50s Mark, then it will be harder for any stock wheelbase bike to beat you!!!

cr, i only go about 3 times a year to the track.i just go for the thrill.
man i have alot to lose if i crash.i really should not be on a bike period.it's the only hobby i have and i have been riding since i was 16 on the street.i make myself stay away from the track so i don't give into the addiction.being 135 to140 i am perfect for drag racing. i just need to go 2 times a week for a season and set my bike up for drag racing.my 12 has 35,000 miles on it..........stock inside except for a billet basket .i'm not strapped in the front and i know that would help........my 60 foot is real bad. best ever being 1.71.i hold it around 5grand and engage as fast as i can.are you able to pop the clutch handle wide open with a stock wheel base.i know my bike will run a 9.5 with some guy that knows how to 60 foot.

If you dont want to crash then why are you riding on the street???

The DragStrip is the safest place to ride a bike!!!

zx12mark ,
You're really being taken to the woodshed on the zx14 zone Guess they don't appreciate being spanked by a lesser bike My 1361 makes more power, and is closer to a true 1400 than theirs, and that's the crux of the problem IMHO.

the crux of the problem is that the zx14 is more zzr than zx.. Not impressive for its displacement imho. A thin head gasket and cams and that sucker will run...

Hope you're right! I'd love to see the 14 be all it can be.

Have any of you guys seen a good rider on a 14? must not have. I'm 216lbs in shorts and have went 9.52 at 150 stock wheelbase, with 87 pump gas, tool kit and mirrors still on, Brock smeg,PC, and I'm an average rider not good. If it don't rain saturday night, going back out and think I can go a low 9.40. there's a guy at my track with a 12 thats stretched 6 inches and he is 140 suited and runs 9.54 at 143 we make some good side by side runs. Wish I was 140 I would be close to the 8's

And I'm not one of the guys who thinks the 14 is the fastest bike out there. I would pick and chose my races well with a busa, zx12, gsxr1000,zx10. in the right hands they are all 9 sec bikes.
