Countershaft Sprocket Clearance

I really want a 19 tooth CS sprocket for high speed runs but no one seems to make them. Clearance problems? I would be willing to pay big bucks for a chain conversion kit also. A smaller chain should allow a larger CS sprocket. I'm not talking about dragrace starts here, LSR attempts only. Larger sprockets=less friction as the chain rounds the CS sprocket. Also, on my 12 the chain is on the rubbing block a great majority of the time, fractional HP losses there also. How about our chains, are they a "true" roller chain or not. By that I mean does each individual roller revolve around its pin? If not, a non o-ring, "true roller" chain would again cut into friction losses. This would not be a good chain for the street but for a one shot deal only.

Holy schitt! a 19 t with a 46?? that's like going to a 18/42??? You must have a turbo to pull that gear, eh?? ;-)

I am at 18/44 now and it seems like all my 1361 needs is a bit more road to pull 200mph. I got 190 on the garmin this am and the engine had not yet hit 11.2 where my shift lite is set. Fukken traffic and wind, just like yesterday.

My DID chain has rollers over the "sleeve" which joins the 2 inner plates, and the pin which joins the two outer plates goes inside the "sleeve". I am not technical so excuse the words, but that''s what it looks like to me.

looking at the countershaft this morning, Im pretty sure a 19 would go, but you probably would have to run without the cover. Maybe try going to a 520 conversion with a non oring chain.

Carbon ram air soon, nitrous pending. A 19/46 should be close to 18/43. Too much gear without help I have on hand 48/49/50 rears. As we look for the HP edge I would like to reduce powertrain loss as much as possible. A chain simply rolls easier over larger sprockets. I've got feelers out for a conversion but no one is iterested yet. I might have to look outside of the MC suppliers for specialty stuff. Stock Drive Products comes to mind.

Never mind, did it myself. 39t rear sprocket works out to 228.82051282051282051282051282097 mph.
