How do I get this shit off?
Have a Yosh exhaust on my 12, stainless headers Ti can. The problem is I have size 13 feet and several times my boot would touch the stainless pipe right before the can. Have this black shit on it that I just can't fucking get off. tried Simple Green, Degreaser, WD-40, shit I even tried Carb cleaner to no avail. Anyone have any ideas to get this shit off without scuffing the stainless?

I used a green scrub pad on my new stainless steel pipe, but I would try it on the inside and go with the grain of the steel. mine looks fine.

On my Ducati, I had the same prob getting shit on the headers... I did this... when the bike was HOT ... (thgis is dangerous.. be forewarned) .. I would take a wet rag and wipe the shit off the header...
when it's hot the stuff wipes right off.. but you risk burning (severely) your hands.. so where gloves etc etc and use caution.... dont call me from the hospital... but it did werk for me as it was the only way I could get all of the rubber goo off my system without scratching it.. when the pipes were cold it was on there like cement...\
hope this helps and fer christsakes be carefull with this procedure! let me know if it helps you

3M....
Makes a a product called adhesive remover. It should work on that but may require some elbow grease. Soak a rag and start rubbing.

I know what works C....
Being that I have large feet I have already had to do this twice to my pipe. Get the thing hot and take some Eagle One Never Dull, which is wadding polish, and rub like hell. It takes the stuff right off and doesn't scratch you pipe or anything. My pipe doesn't even have any stains where the rubber from my boots was melted to it, which sorta shocked me. The never dull is good shit, excellent to polish your pipe and can with. I starting using the stuff on my cymbals on my drum kit, makes 'em purdy.

goof off and goo gone can be very dangerous as they can disolve ABS plastic and little bits... be careful not to get it on anything you dont want disolved...

If you use lacquer thinner make sure the pipe is cold.
