Speeding tickets on your bike

How many of you have recieved speeding tickets on your bikes please list the particulars.

I got an 87 in a 55 by a Florida Highway Patrol ("Peckerheads" as nicknamed by my dad) I was pretty lucky as I was doing about 110 not long before and a mile or so back up the road I was riding it on the back wheel. So in that respect I was lucky if you can say $233 + $25 (for the driver improvement class) is lucky?

Since you went to school, can you ride wheelies better now?

I had my bike out not long ago and took it down a nice country road-no drive ways, intersections, etc. The only thing is the speed limit is 35, I opened it up right in front of the man and got a 70 in a 35. 6 points and $193. I actually just got the attorney to get me out of another ticket I had back in june, I got operating without a license (3 points, $150) and speeding (80 in a 65, 4 points $150-dropped). It was 5:30 in the morning on the interstate, I wish I would've just taken off now....I've been pulled about 5 other times without tickets and I've only had the damn bike since june

Damn silver better slow down a little or you won't have a license.
I did have the cops chase me, or so a guy in the control tower at the Acft place I worked at told me. I did wheelies almost every night when I would get off work at 11:30 pm and the sheriffs dispatch bldg is on that road and I would usually be going 100 or so as I went past it,Oh well Fuck'em they didn't catch me.

in my 12 years of riding I have received only 1 ticket and 2 warnings. I attribute this to cautious speeding and my Bell radar detectors.... the latest incarnation being the 945i.

My only ticket was for speeding on a large uphill straight... I was on my FZR1000 at the time.. my friend next to me on his GSXR750... we were doing about 140mph up this hill (speed limit 40mph) when I spotted the cop... radar hadnt gone off yet... I let off the gas a bit, then the radar went of and we both rolled off.... for some reason I thought I'd better not hit the brakes cuz he'd see me slowing down quickly... big mistake as he radared me at 50... if I would have hit the brakes we wouldnt have gotten popped... (he wrote both of us tix)...

anyways... since then not a single one... I learned that you cant get a ticket for slowing down (duh!) but that was 10 years ago...

Kiwi and I got a ticket from a lying bastard Ranger in Yosemite 2 years ago... he lied and said he had radared us, even though he later admitted he had no radar in has car! A letter to the judge had the tix torn up and the 19 year old Ranger disciplined.

Last summer we were pulled over by a Ranger here in Vancouver for speeding, passing on double yellow etc etc on a nearby mountain road. I showed him my speedo before he wrote me the ticket (goes to 340kmh)... his eyes got really big... came back.. gave us a warning and thanked us for stopping as he said he "knew we didnt have to"..

that's it! pretty good!

Got clocked on my bike doing 90 in a 70.... Cop pulled me over talked to me for a few and gave me a jr. trooper sticker and told me that I had to wear it all day!!LOL

"Not a problem officer!!!"

Then after this, I was driving my Jimmy and got pulled over for doing 75 in a 70...TICKET!!!

Then driving the van, got pulled over only because I did not have my seatbelt on.....TICKET!!!!

Just goes to show...What comes around, goes around!!!

I've gotten off about 5 times with warnings though, but like ZX12girl said, what goes around comes around. I lofted the front wheel in an empty parking lot in front of smokey the trooper with a warning. Also had another let me go for 80 in a 65, everyone else moved over and he got me. He said he knew how hard it was to go slow on "those damn things" and to take it easy...very cool

No speeding tickets in more than 4 years. I have been very lucky not to get caught on my bike. We constantly speed and generally you don't get pulled over for plus 10 mph.

But we are usually going faster than that and the only time we see cops are when we slow down for a stop sign or something. We don't drive too fast through towns but when the road opens up, we wick it up again. -ZXtra

the last real speeding ticket was up in ormand beach fla. i was on a nice sunday ride doin the "ormond loop". was takin my time thru this neighborhood and this "DICK" pulls up next to me(he is on a gsxr1100 i'm on my zx11) and he wants to race me thru the neighbor hood,i shake my head no cause we are in a neighbor hood ,but when we get out of the hood i signal him to lets get it on and we take off side by side and i start pulling away next thing i know i see a motor cop with his radar gun zapping me so i hit the binders and turn around to face the piper ,so does the DICK on the gsxr. he gives me a ticket for 101 in a 35 and he does not give the DICK on the gsxr a ticket..i ask the officer why and he says that i was in front and that he could not tell that the"dick" was speeding. my ticket was for$350.00 and as i was suiting up to leave i heard the "DICK and cop talkin about about there families were doing and so on and so forth.. i was PO'ed to say the least..when i went to pay the ticket the woman at the ticket counter asked why i was not thrown in jail.i thougth yea, i just got lucky..reddawg

I have been pretty luck so far! I hate to even mention it because...I am sure something will happen now!..Knock on wood...Knock on wood....knock on wood! But I did get a 97MPH ticket in MT this year...maybe that made up for it! I was just saying to my buddies...Gee I wish I had my bike here, I would be flying down these roads...then it happened! After he gave me a ticket, I thought...gee I am glad I wasn't riding my bike!

I've been very lucky this past year. I managed 7000 miles since March and have avoided 6 possible "expensive" tickets. I try to stay within the speed limit in the city/Town by the highway is another story. I just have a problem with 65mph! So my driving record is still great so far.

You Guys Make Me Feel Fortunate!!!

102mph in a 60mph going to work!?!? cost me $100
87mph in a 60mph at 1am!?!?! cost me $225 WTF!!!

I get nailed in the car all the time. My fattest ticket was for 95 in a 55 that cost me $505 (hey that rhymes!!) Boy that hurt, I felt like waking home after that one!!

I've had my license suspended 6 mos for excessive points back in 99; can't let that happen again because the next time is for a year without occupational driving privileges!! :o

Hmmm..interesting. Only ticket so far has been a 70/50, and the good cop wrote me down for a 55/50, which was $80, no points. I was extremly lucky, in that I had been doing a 150 just a little further up, before I sensed that smokey might be hiding up the road and slowed down, but not too quickly unfortunately since I was 'bored' to get on the brakes hard.

Most expensive ticket was that lousy handicapped violation I got a few months ago....parked half the bike on the blue line and got a 'full' ticket - $120.

But looks like I've been lucky so far. Done far too many 180+ runs for comfort...hope my luck isn't running out.

Might get pulled over for polluting the environment though with fine blue 2 stroke smoke from my RD350!

keep in mind those speeds r all in kms
and the dollar amounts in CDN
so theyr both relatively low
i guess i shouldnt bitch too much tho, as i have many times brought the front wheel down from a wheelie JUST as a cop came around the corner, always in the same spot too. wierd. & i have twice zipped by cops almost flat out at about 300kph, and he either didnt care, or just could see me cause i passed him so fast!! (goin the other way)

Got a warning and a 15 miniut ass chewing for 80+ in a 30.
The cop just absoluitly knew that I was speeding but did not get me on radar.

I tried to explain to the officer that I had just turned out onto the main street, He basicly calls me a liar.
So I ask him how fast the car in front of me was going he dosent answer me so now I am getting pissed, I tell him that if he is going to give me a tickit to just give me the dam thing and let me go on.
Now he is pissed starts going on how nobody should owne these kind of bikes on the street.
Finely he gives my lisence back and tells me that he'd better never catch me speeding again and lets me go.

what happens if ya just leave ina situation like that? if ya ask the cop "just give me a ticket or let me go" when he gives u the ass chewin, and he oesnt give u a ticket, then can ya just leave? do u have any legal obligation to stay there & listen to some guy in a bad mood give u crap? id be kinda worried that he may pull u off the bike or even try ta pull his gun if hes pissed enough. but really, if hes not givin u aticket or anything else, just yellin at ya, can ya just leave? nt tkae off, but say "if theres nothing else, ill be leaving now" & get on ur way as normal. thoughts? any cops know the facts in this case?

Freek it looks like you are the winner (loser?) in the most tickets lately catagory.
I don't mind a cop giving me a little shit as long as they don't give me a ticket. It would piss me off if they said nobody should own these type of bikes.I might want to ask him if that's why pussies like him don't ride them!
