Insurance crap
my friend in Virginia just tried to renew his 98 yamaha yzf 600r through State Farm...they wanted to charge him a $962 surcharge.
Harleys were only a $50 surcharge

WTF is this surcharge crap?
My Allstate agent tried the same thing this year. Is it a ploy to advertise lower rates then put the whammy on you with a "surcharge"? I can see charging my customers a surcharge. They wouldn't pay it and would not buy anything from me ever again. The surcharge is just extra premium that should be included in the "premium" instead of being tacked onto some base rate.

Just got my renewal notice from State Farm...
It reads like this....
2000 Kawasaki 1200CC Class 1A0S000
Coverage from 5/23-11/23
A Liability Bodily Injury 50/100, Prop. Damage - $64.60
D Comprehensive ($500 Deductable) - $38.00
G Collision ($500 Deductable) - $106.80
U Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Bodily Injury 50/100 - $13.80
U1 Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Prop. Damage 25K - $1.80
S1 Death Indemnity - $4.00
T1 Total Disability - $6.40
Amount due - $235.40
I don't carry medical coverage since I have BC/BS. I just switched my house over to State Farm (saved $$$). Since I don't own a car, That's all they got.
