wiseco 1272 in 1270 cylinder

please bear with my long story/question:

recently i bolt on a muzzys 1270 with muzzys cams(complete with the vsprings,retainers)+studs...after 3000miles a valve sung on the 3rd 1270 pistion..after checking out with muzzy.i order a piston(supose to be 1270) + welded crank to increase to 1375 set up.. yesterday i just discover the piston they send me is different...its the same size as 1270, but its different in length from the other 3 1270 old piston..my bike shop email muzzys they told me muzzys dont sell a 1270 piston, and ive to order 4....
QUESTION : do you think the wiseco 1272 piston will fit in the muzzys 1270cylinder(its in great condition) with my muzzy crank...is it 100% possible for this 1377cc set up.
the muzzys 60mm welded crank is new...other than that i have the muzzys cams, valve springs, retainers,ss valve (new from u guys)stud n nuts..what else i need?

Look at my post on pyschobike. If I were to guess, since you ordered a stroker crank you probably got a cut down 1270 piston. When you go with the stroker crank they cut the domes of the 1270 pistons to lower engine compression. If I were to guess that is..

Call them back and double check..

the crank come with extra base gaskets and a spacer to lower the compression..for the 1270 upgrade 1375 kit .thats why he bought A replacement piston and the 1375 urgrade crank kit..but i guess muzzys send the 1375 piston instead..but now muzzy ask me to get all new 4 piston..thats why im looking at 1272cc for a cheaper replacement...

I would still double check the dome heights on the pistons and call Muzzys back..

Will NOT fit!
I tried it years ago.
You will do better to find someone that has 3 1270 pistons that is willing to sell one.
Muzzy cuts the dome on the 1270 to lower compression on the 1361, probably what you got .
The wiesco 1272 piston looks like it will work until you try.
It will not even go into the hole.
It takes a minute to realize that these engines go or blow based on a few THOUSANTHs of an inch.
IT would be bigger than a 1377, the extra 2cc it has to be multiplied by the extra stroke.

i thought the muzzy 1270 kit was a 2.5mm bore 85.5mm exactly the same as 1272...

Correcto ! The pistons, should, be the same diameter.

Muzzy's 1270 is *actually* 1272cc, kinda like the Carpenter 1290 is *actually* 1287cc

I think the Muzzy 1270 pistons are 85.4mm not 85.5mm. You might want to check with Muzzy to be sure.

They didn't fit in the hole for me!
Don't know if you don't believe me or you think your luck will be different.
Good luck.

this is the older piston which came with my 1270 kit about 6 months back its says JE 984P

This is the NEW piston dat came with my upgrade kit it reads JE 944M

when placed together u can see a slight difference in the place where u insert the rods

there is also a difference in the grooves

Placed side by side there is also a difference in height

but in diameter they are the same the top are not re-machined in any way

HELP ME !

Heh, they *should* be the same diameter, but knowing Muzzy's, it's probably a little bit different so that you HAVE to buy the stuff from them.

Muzzy's pistons are definitely NOT standard. They would be 2.4mm vs 2.5. Their cranks were also NOT standard at 4.6mm vs 5mm. Keeps you needing them only.
