My 12 got hit yesterday....
Had the bike parked in an EMPTY parking lot at work today, right in front of the window. I saw a big moving truck out there and had a funny feeling in my tummy....
I kept looking out there (bike was parked in front of the truck) to make sure the bike was still upright and all was cool. Then the truck was gone. About 20 mins later the chick from Klinke cleaners comes over and said the mover guys hit my bike and knocked it over and then put it back up. So I remembered the name of the company and called up and found out who was driving the truck and that I was gonna have his balls. They sent a manager out to see the bike and we called the fuzz, filled out the report. The driver's left me a cute little note with their manager's name on it (not theirs) and said to call the company about the damages (they couldn't stick around, guess they were busy ) So, they want to pay me cash and not take it to their insurance company, but I have a feeling they're going to change their minds when they get the bill....
left side mirror, fairing, shift linkage, fairing bracket, stator cover, rearset, tailpiece, clutch lever, bar end, I could go on but I'm too worked up. I'm gonna go work out now....
Moral of this TRUE story: you can't have anything nice in this world because some stupid fuck will always be out there to ruin it for you.

That bites!
I thought some fuckin stupid ashole was going to hit my ike in a parking lot a few weeks ago.I park sideways and towards the front of the space so hopefully someone won't whip in there and hit my bike. This redneck comes in and says who's bike is this out here you need to move it. There was over a foot on either side of the lines dividing the spaces.I said there is plenty of room (his wife was driving) I walk outside to make sure he doesn't hit my bike.He says to me " you ought to learn how to drive" That was the wrong thing to say to me. I told himif he didn't get his stupid fuckin ass in his car I was going to knock him down and stomp a mudhole in his ass,his wife convinced him it would be best if he did that as I was walking towards him to assist him as needed.I don't normally get that mad but my piss flew a little hot that day.

That sucks man. Just make sure you have the chassis checked by a frame shop. The damage may be more than just cosmetic. Triple clamps, fork tubes, frame, etc. You don't want to find out after all is fixed somethings bent you didn't know about. Especiallly at 175+...
Sue the MF for all the time off work, gas, deductable, phone calls, etc. & ALL other expenses you incur. Start a log now of each & every thing you do toward getting it fixed. Time on the phone (time is billable @ your hourly rate), at the dealer ordering parts, estimates, etc.
Remember they will screw you if they get the chance. Don't sign ANYTHING off until the whole bike is fixed. The voice of experience...

Let us know if it is anything more than a local company. If they screw with you we can bring the might of the entire board down on their corporate headquarters. Nothing like 200 phone calls saying "I will never use your company and here's why".

2 things...
Be happy you weren't SITTING on your bike when they hit it.
Give them the chance to do the right thing. Your goal is to get your bike fixed, not to fuck with someones livelyhood.

Hit and run comes to mind.
Let the company know that if everything isn't to your liking the fuzz will be involved in a little hit and run investigation.
Like Dave says, make sure the frame is straight.

After my 5 altercations with cars over 3+ decades of riding, including FOUR "hit-&-runs" resulting in broken bones, & the resulting permanent loss of mobility, jobs, etc. your attitude changes toward these idiots.
