Lowering links on a 2002

Well wouldn't you know it, the rear links are changed too. If you used stock length 00 links, the rear would be up higher than it already is. I got the new Muzzy three hole links, and the middle positiion lowers the bike just a bit (which goes great with my lowered fork in the tree) When I drop to the low hole, it should be about right. The old muzzy links on the 00 made it a bit too low for my 200lb ass. Can't wait to hit the strip!

Question about Lowering Links...

On this topic of lowering links. I got my Muzzy's in the other day and put them on but I need some fog cleared out. How come they are longer that stock but that actually lowers the bike?

I also got my kill switch and Shif tlight installed and I will try to post and image.

Susp. Geometry

When you lower the bike, you are basically allowing the shock/spring combo drop farther thru the bike, allowing it to sag a bit with the weight of the bike pushing it down. This makes the distance from the bottom of the suspension to the swingarm farther. A longer dogbone will lock this "sag distance" into place. A short dogbone means that you have to push the suspension tighter up thru the swingarm, making the back end go up.

I think this is the way to explain this. I am sure others will have a better explanation. A picture is worth even more than this description.
