Gearing Question
Has anyone tried 17/44? That's -1 up front and -2 in the back. Shouldn't that be very similar to stock final drive ratio but a longer wheelbase?
I'm trying to get some extra wheelbase but I dont want to sacrifice gear beyond stock if possible. Trying to get as close to 60" without going over. I think I'm at 59" with this 17/44 setup.
The question is will the reduced gearing counteract the added wheelbase...

If you don't mind abusing the clutch a good bit, it shouldn't hurt it that much. You might want to try a 16 toother to go along with the 44. It'll get ya tad more wheelbase too.

Guys,
This is really easy to figure out. Just divide the small number into the big number. Compare the resulting number.
An 18/46 (stock) is 2.56, a 17/44 is a 2.59. That is a 3% difference.
