The stumbles

Am i right in saying that it is common for stumbling/surging between 5-6000 rpm and what is the fix?

Completely stock 01 12r (at the moment)

Don't fancy the PC 111 after searching the forums. Did i read that the akropovic will bolt on and does not need the PC111?

Sorry too many questions!

I have an Akrapovic on my 2002 without a power commander, never put one on and never will...

I use to have a 2000 with a Muzzy pipe, it was not as smooth as the 2002...I had a custom map from Orient Express but still had the stumble at 3000 and a flat spot at 5000...When I DragRaced it, there were no problems as I throttled to redline...It was only a problem holding rpm in those spots...Then the bike started running worse and found that the PC went bad dumping lots of fuel, I had to change the oil, there was so much unburnt gas in the oil...Some 12s were smoother than others back then!!!...But now the 2002-3 are better and the 2004-5 being even smoother!!!

Never used the PC since and when I was riding the 2000 without the PC the stumbles and flat spot were not as bad as with the PC...

Put the pipe on and change the gearing to 17-47 and that will put the stumble and flat spot down low...Now the 12 will be smoother for street riding...

BMC race filter is good, 4 degrees of ignition advance on the rotor is good
