velocity stacks...even more confused....

I could never get the blue Muzzy stacks to fit right in my '00 12R, that i have since parted out. I figured since I can't sell em, I may as well try them in the '02 12 that I now have.
I tried swapping the left stack, and found the stack will not go in this 12 either! The stock rubber stack is actually S shaped too go from the airbox to the tb's! Off at least 4-5 mm's!
I guessed my '00 may have had sagging motor mount bushings, from a few years of hard riding???, but now this one too??, This '02 only has 8k easy miles. Are all of you just jammin' those stacks in there, and calling it a day?? no wonder there are such minimal gains, if any. The stacks aren't even sealing in the airbox! Theres a HUGE leak. Ram air becomes non-existant also. I posted stack problems on the boards before, but found nobody else with such issues. How can this be??
I'm completely baffled by this...........

Must be an engine /frame alignment issue. The stacks are CNC'd in large batches and it;s highly unlikey that a single one (or a small amount) would be incorrect. But 4-5 mm? I never saw one that bad. Keep in mind that anly a small amount of movement of the engine around the top engine mount bolt yields quite a bit of movement at the top of the TB's.
One of the reasons all these parts are rubber in the first place is to account for mismatch. Dunno, I guess you'll have to loosen and jack it and see what happens.

Same as What DM Said for all Bear Stacks also. It almost sounds like the TB's are cocked in the Mounts causing the non alignment of the stacks

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH...............went through this with the '00... motor loose/tight/jack it up/ tighten....they just flop back down where they want to. I also thought, if the engine was that much low, the bodywork would'nt line up as nice. The '02 has a better looking front engine mount, thought it would hold it up wher it should be..oh well. The best running 12's definetely have it all lined up nice. I value both your opinoions very highly, thankyou.
Anyone want 'em??

Wish it were that easy...
Possibly I'll try to loosen the tb/engine boots, line it all up,and tighten the boots. Seems you can't get to the clamps without dropping the engine.
