Speedgene, the head is off already but after I check all the valves for warpage,I can have the machine shop make a plate to fit over the bottom with a used head gasket and stock and double check for leakage.

Face the port openings up and fill em with solvent. Guaranteed to leak real good if they're bent. Not uncommon for exhausts to leak a tad because of carbon buildup on a used one. Man, that sucks. I'd also be real wary bout using that head again.

Just so you guys know, there is a tool from snapon/mac etc. that uses compressed air to make a vacuum in the port and indicate it on a guage. It looks like a small pistol and has a flat pad at the end of the "barrel" that covers the port and has a vacuum guage. With the cams out and header and throttle bodies off you hold it agenst the port and measure the vacuum in the port.
It takes 2 seconds per port to check for a bent valve without taking the head off the bike. Of course you will need a steady supply of compressed ait to use it.
