Back on the road but....

Hi guys,

Motor is back together again after the tranny blowout and i've done around 100 miles in last 2 evenings.
I'm running some mineral Castrol GP 4stroke oil just to get the post rebuild shite out of the system and i'm getting some occasional clutch noise, seems worse with heat, don't seem like it is slipping, now bearing in mind i've now done 150 miles on this 28000 miler 50 of those with a f@cked shift fork/gear cluster i haven't become as one with this machine yet.
Is any noise acceptable ?
Is it possible that the clutch don't like the oil or is running a little dry( and yes i've read all about drill this grind that , so we wont turn this into one of those threads)
How is every one running their 01 clutches ?, mine still has the large ID f disc, shim and bellville spring closest to tranny, and last f disc on the offset on the basket.
Or is the clutch toast ,all looked ok when it was apart loads of friction material no warpage.
Rear wheel don't spin on the paddock stand when clutch pulled in so it isn't dragging.

Please help coz this is one hell of a motorcycle and i need to restore my faith in it mechanically.

BTW Any slagging of my motor rebuilder is directed at me coz i did it!! No dealers no back street garages just me and my 4 year old!!

I've run Castrol GTX for years in all kinds of machinery including my 12 during break-in and in the winter months.

Its some of the finest Dino oil money can buy and I've got oil analysis sheets to prove it.

It ain't the oil.

A model clutch's definitely make some noise when the clutch is out and idling in neutral. It's the nature of the beast.

My 2000 had third gear blow some time back. Grafted together two engines to make one.

Used trans was updated with Robinson Billet 2nd and 3rd and a good once over. I run the Muzzy Hub, Billet Falicon basket, Schnitz Heavy Springs, STOCK Steels and Frictions, and My Cross drilled Pusher shaft.

The Trans does seems "Grumble" a bit, however nothing to be concerned with. Runs like stink and NEVER misses a shift!! (New Drum and shift forks help with that).

Changed oil made all the difference, feels smoother on the gear shifts noise has halved.

This thing sure does shift on !!
