Brake lines

Hey guys...which brake lines are better? Galfer or HEL.

I had a set of Goodridge on order...but there's no telling when they will come in (Ordered them in the middle of February).

I was offered a set of HEL lines at the same cost. I've never heard of HEL.

I'm familure with Galfer. Several of my friends have them on their bikes and love them. They tried to get me to go with Galfer in the first place.

My concern is getting lines that are too long. I was told that the HEL lines would be the proper length (28/29 inches) but as I said...I'm unfamilure with them.

Your thoughts.

I've never used Galfer, I have the Goodrich and ordered them from Spencer Cycle. Tell him what bike you have, and they'll get them the right length. Mine were perfect!

Hope this helps...

I have galfer... fit and finish are great... according to the galfer rep... goodrich lines are too long because they are a shared part among several models whereas galfer are made specifically fer the 12..

I used them on the track and they were lovely

Doug is who I was trying to get them through.

Fish, You just ordered the galfers from anywhere and they are the correct length?

Well I just got off the phone with a guy in NC at Hardracing http://www.hardracing.com/Home.htm.

He was able to offer me the proper Galfer lines (2 front and 1 rear) for $115.00 . That was just too sweet a deal to pass up. He quoted me the same part numbers that were on Galfer's site. He said that he has sold many of these lines to guys with 12s before and they all told him the length was perfect.

I called Doug and asked him to go ahead and cancel my order. I feel bad for the guy. I know it's out of his hands. Doug is a great guy and in the past has always had stuff to me cheap and fast.

He still comes highly recommended from me

I have -2 goodridge lines that I ordered from spencer cycle and they fit great and it didn't take that long to get them ( although at the time goodridge was temporarily out of -2 line) You just ordered goodridge lines from the wrong place.

Hey guys...who do you think I'm talking about. Doug @ Spencer Cycles !!!
I didn't want to say who it was in my first post cause it seemed a little negative. The last thing I want to do is give any negative news about Doug and Spencer Cycles. Like I said...this wasn't Dougs fault. Lines were / are on back order till who knows when.

HEL, makes some of the best lines in Europe. Most racers choose them over goodridge or other lines. The quality and fit is awesome and they come in colors also. Here is there link to read up on. http://www.h-e-l.co.uk/
