Most Ducs respond well to mods. I love em!! A SV ain't no Ducati.

ooO

Its just i really want a ducati (heheh), and dont have enough money for a 998, only a 748S. However i have heard that they are a little down on power in comparason to 600's like the gixer or CBR.

Dont want to get slaughtered on track and road by my mates 6's. :-)

Oh, and SV650 's are the bikes i dislike the most :-) Heard they are quite good, but the styling aint my cup of tea!

SV ain't got shit for suspension, that's their biggest problem. But a stock SV will pull a 748 quite readily, so what's that say about that dead duck motor? And if'n you want to be onna exclusive ride, how bout a Cagiva Raptor 650?

twins

I have a thing for twins, and hoping to take to track days reasonably often so something racy is needed :-). If i cant find a twin i like thats got the goods, then i will revert to a CBR600F sport. But i would rather have a litre-twin (mille or 998). JUST not enough cash though!

Sorry to say but you won't hang power wise with any newer 600 inline

?

reallly? Ive heard lots that a 748 cant keep with 600's inline round a track. However my sources could be un-trustworthy :-) lying b*tches

They a bit too heavy though..no? (a 748 that is). If i got one i would probably get a set of pipes for it soonish.

The 600's will get ya in the straights but the Duc will catch em in the corners. If ya can ride.

Better hope those straights are pretty short. Bout the only thing that 748 is gonna keep up with is maybe an EX500.

The easiet thing to do is drop a 996 motor into your frame. The cheapest and most effective way to turn it up.

I doubt most of us could ride well enough to exploit the difference between a 748 Duc and an SV 650. Don't waste your money on a 748, if you're going to get one, IMHO go all out and get the 996R or Mille R. I'd get the Mille R before the 996 though, less maintenance by far and damn near as good.

oooo

748's = slugish then i take it?! I guess the cheapest racy-v-twin would be the mille?

Probably have to settle for a CBR or gixer 6, but i would LOVE a beefy v-twin if i could get my hands on one!!

Nice info on all bikes you could want. The review on the 748 is a bit vague though!!
