Heat Blanket
OK ladies and gents...there were a few people on the site who made the airbox heat blanket. Who is still making them? I want one..

Alot of us got them from Y2KZX12R but I'm gonna guess that his plate is full..........as always.
Good news is that you can make one from some items from Home Depot. Oh, and they do help.

I used a foil backed, self adhesive insulation (used in HVAC) and put it on the underside of the whole Airbox/Frame.
Simple and effective!

Sorry, I dont have any of the material anymore. Its the 14" wide silver bouble wrap type insulation sold at home depot and lowes. Theres a document floating around with exact dimensions to cut it to.
It would be nice to have a place on this board to perminately save this type of stuff.

I have a bunch of the material; but i'd tend to go with psycho's tip.
The blanket wo adhesive is a PITA to work around. I junked mine.

Yea it is in the way of the throttlebodies. It needs to be folded back when sync. the throttle bodies. But half of its effectivness is shielding the throttlebodies also. so any material used would need to be folded back or removed to sync. the throttle bodies.

it goses up agenst the frame/airbox and back to the throttle bodies and then down in front of the throttle bodies to the top of the intake ports.

I use a piece of ruber that covers the top of the head and works very nice, the street driving is excelent.
