They will not work direct! you will have to change the cam timing sensor on for the model year ECU/Wiring you are using...

I helped Scott with the actual motor swap..... he called me a day later after he hooked up all the electric etc... and he couldn't get the motor to fire. I went over and checked it out. It wanted to fire but sounded like the timing was off ???? the plugs were wet and probably fowled. So if I get you right Mad Mike, we'll put the original cam sensor in the new motor and some fresh plugs and should be good.... Thanks for your help and I'll let you guys know what happened. Roy

Not the whole cam. Just the pick-up on the end of the exhaust cam.

Its the whole cam. The slot in the end is timed different. There is a company now that makes our race cars that is making new pick-ups that are timed different. About a 5 minute fix.

It's easier to move the pick-up than change cams and re-shim.
Either way will work, just how much work do you want to do.

Did you shim it or just swap and run?

My buddy (Scott) did the cam swap and I'm sure he just swapped them out. I'll check the clearances this week end. I'll let you know how far out they were.......

LOL,
I wish you luck, but with 8 valves chances are very good that you will need to make adjustments somewhere.
Take the cam you took out, pull the pickup off and grind the place holder tit off.
Look at the one you put in, and put the sensor on the old cam at the same angle
relation to the last cam lobe. The bolt will hold it tight enough since the is no force on it.
Since you will have to pull the cam to shim. Just put that one in and IF the shims were
right they will still be right. IF you have a shim kit handy eight way is quick and easy.
