he is no joke,, not as active at 7 years but still just as dangerous and actually weighing in at a little more than in the photo,,present weight is 153 lbs. you gotta see HIM not just his head,,his feet are (words cant describe)

Nice pics
I think I have the best dog in the world, he is a cross between a Rotti and a border collie.
He has all the great qualities of the rotti but with the smarts and attentiveness of the border collie.
Whats your food bill for the month ?

i have 2 full grown,,bout a buck and a half a month,,they are spoiled!
with that mix does the dog kill the intruder,,then take you through an obsticle course to show you the remains?? LOL

Tosa Inu info:
The Tosa, also called the Tosa-Inu or Tosa-Ken, is a stately, massive dog. Athletic and surprisingly agile. The head is large, with a broad skull, fairly abrupt stop, and a moderately long, squared-off muzzle. The jaws are very powerful. The skin at the neck forms a dewlap. The ears are fairly small and pendant, falling along the cheeks. The eyes are small, dark and almond-shaped, with a dignified expression. The long tail is very thick at the root then tapers to a point, reaching the hocks. The short-haired coat is dense and harsh. The preferred color is solid red, though black, yellow, black & tan, fawn, brindle and multi-colored is also permissible.
The Tosa is a brave, fearless and bold dog. Very attuned to his master's wishes and greatly sensitive to the tone of ones voice. Protective and loyal. Exceptionally quiet, calm and patient. The Tosa has been bred to be a very quiet dog because Japanese dog fighting rules require the dogs to fight silently. They are highly intelligent and do not need repetitious training, but do require an equable, consistent, friendly approach. The dog is very affectionate towards their family members and more reserved with strangers, but will accept newcomers if properly introduced. It places its family first and foremost, but known visitors are usually happily greeted. Both males and females make excellent home and family protectors and companions. The sheer size of the Tosa and his deep bark are effective deterrents. Tosas show remarkable acceptance of children and will not snap or bite from fear or pain. However, due to the Tosa's size, he should not be left with children unsupervised. The owner must learn to control the Tosa, as the breed is too large and strong to be unmannerly. Good with other dogs and pets only when raised with them from puppyhood. They tend to be fairly dog aggressive. Keep the Tosa away from other dogs that may want to fight, because the Tosa will most certainly win. They are not recommended in a home with other dogs of the same sex, size and temperament. They have a very high pain tolerance due to their fighting origins. This breed requires a strong and experienced owner capable of dealing with a large, powerful animal. With proper training and control, the Tosa can be a good family companion. Self aware, a very good guard and watchdog. This is not a breed for beginners.
Height, Weight
Height: around 24 (60 cm.)
Weight 83-200 pounds (37½-90½ kg.)
The large height and weight ranges in the Tosa breed is due to their background in dog fighting; they are grouped into light, middle and heavyweight classes. The average weight for the USA Tosas are: males 120-170 pounds (54-77 kg.), females 90-140 pounds. In Japan the Tosa weighs about 66-88 pounds (30-40 kg.) - smaller than those bred in the West.

feel like im gettin tosaad around here,, quite the tidbit of info on the canine there,,you know ive always had shepards till GRANITE,, dont think i will go back though,, this guy as a pup showed so much promise,, and over the years,, along with my brother acting as agitator
(because nobody else would) together we have dial my Rott and his Doby (Partner) into a couple of dogs to be proud of,,they dont fear guns,, if you were the size of shaquille ONeal,,it wouldnt phase him,, he would eat you just the same,,and talk about good with the children,,my dog does not leave my Autistic son "Vincents" side,, in the pool at the lake,,in the back yard at night,,only problem is he is a freek,, the average weight of a Rotty that is recognized by germany to be a maximum of 110 lbs. but he is not overweight by any means,, he is just HUGE,, i as far as im concerned,, pedigrees dont matter now of days,, i have his and they never came into play,, a puppy should be willing,, not timid,, have a good gait,,,and have good markings,,and a descent family history as far as OFA,,and thats it,,take all the family tree ,,,champion grand sire crap and toss it,, just give me THAT DOG RIGHT THERE!! thats it.

this kitten literally almost had its head taken off,,(no Joke) by Granite,, my daughter was so upset,, she thought she wasnt going to be able to keep the kitten,, our VET told us to take his Airline dog carrier,,and put the kitten in it with its food and water and bed and put it in the middle of the living room,,we did for about 3 days,, this dog would go bananas,,trying to tip it,,nudging it,, barking like a maniac,,, and 3 days later,, they were the best of friends,, i could not believe it.!!

next dog i get will be a good Sheppard, i woudl really like to get back into Schutzhund...was great fun...a bit expensive at first buying the equipment, but worth it after that....I took my last Sheppard to a SCHI and an FH title.....that was about it....woudl like to tkae a dog to a SCHIII....I just dont have tha tkind of time. the Sheppard I have now is just to timid for bite work, I coudl prolly put a FH and B title on him....but dont wnat to put that kind of time in a dog tha tis 7 years old already.....might work on a B with him.......need to find a club in the El Paso area.......

..nope...mine's a handsome 80lb 8y.o. male sable GSD imported from Denmark...very fast, very young attitude for his age...I've had him since he was 2...based on his behavior when I got him six years ago, I suspect that he probably had at least his Shutzhund-1 before we trained him for real world man apprehension work...bite-work not as pretty as working for 'points' on the Shutzhund field...trust me, he knows man apprehension work very well, but is a clown when not working and being a loving family member at mi casa...waaaaay cool hot dog

Good looking Rott!,,mine was imported from N. Las Vegas,, took him home the back was around Lake Mead,,i lived in the subdivision next door to Lake Las Vegas Resort,, Called Calico Ridge. my ex and i were in two vehicles,,she just had to hold him with here for the ride home,, and all she could say the whole way was how he was just sucking on her neck,,must be part vampire also. lol
