Rear Carrier Hub Bearing Replacement
I was doing some routine pre-Maxton work on the bike and discovered the outer bearing in the carrier/hub on the rear wheel is toast, it sounds crunchy and doesnt want to move easily. I pulled the carrier off my other bike and it spins freely, so I need a new bearing.
Do I remember someone saying there is a NAPA replacement for this bearing? If anyone has suggestions aside from going to the stealer or Ron Ayers please let me know. Thanks.

ya. i replaced mine once already. hammering takes it's toll.it's a common size at bearing houses.it will go bad again,oh well.it's fun making it go bad.

I carry the NAPA part # in my cell phone now, had one go out on a trip...
front# is P6005-2RSJ
rear# is P6205-2RSJ

Those NAPA numbers are the wheel bearings, the one I'm looking at it the carrier bearing on the hub for the rear sprocket, that's the one that took a dump on me. I called NAPA they wanted $34, called Bearings and Drives Inc and they wanted $28. Ron Ayers has it for $11.67, so I'll order it online. Ron Ayers #601B6006G BEARING-BALL #6006G $11.67

BTW- just for future reference, Ron Ayers REAR wheel bearings Part Number: 601B6205UU Description: BEARING-BALL Source: KAWASAKI Price: $11.92
FRONT Part Number: 601B6005UU Description: BEARING-BALL,#6005UU Source: KAWASAKI Price: $11.19
so the NAPA is about 50% less on those.

i just got my wheels chrome dipped, and i need new bearings. i shouldnt buy it from schnitzracing???

I have 2 sprocket Carriers for "Quick Change" of Sprockets. I replace and check them all of the time! Just ordered some parts for a new test to see if the bike is ready for Maxton! I do not think I am yet!

Keep in mind, the carrier bearing is a different size than the rear wheel bearings. I believe it's a 6006 bearing. Had my wheel off the other day, and remember the hub spacer went into it and the axle just slid through the wheel bearings.(It also has a different part number)Duane

NAPA does not sell the wheel bearings for $5.99 anymore, they are $28 and $34 each. Screw that! Ron Ayers still has them cheap however!
