Clutch Slipping ?????

Question :

After running 8-10 runs , 10 mins between runs, on my way back from the drag strip this weekend , not on accel right at 6400-6500rpm up to 7400-7500 rpms in 6th gear only, it
feels like the friggin' clutch is slipping then sling shots up like nothing else is wrong? Any ideas? Does not occur any other time, any other gears , etc.....

HELP

With stock thickness metal plates (1.6), 10 minutes between multiple runs is not long enough. Too much heat builds up. Your symptom sounds weird, but I'd say your clutch is going. I got over 80 runs on a stock clutch, but at least a half hour between runs is required, and no dry hop practice start. The Muzzy clutch does better, but still needs ample cool down.

Dunno if it would make a difference here...but swapping out my stock clutch springs for 6 ZX6R springs made the bike shift 100x better.

I cannot recall the last time I missed a shift or felt the clutch get loose since changing the springs.

so the stock 6r springs are weaker/heavier than the 12's?
seems like they would cause it to slip more? hmmmm

zx6 are heavier. I think the zx6 uses 4 springs and the zx12 uses 6. You may want to try 3 stock and 3 zx6 if you ride street also.
It's been a while since i been in mine.

The 6R springs are also beefier and longer than the stockers.

I toyed with just changing 3...but changing all 6 worked like a champ. It definately takes quite a bit more effort to squeeze the clutch lever now

2000 ZX-6r springs

I've been running them in my bike for a year and 1/2 .All 6 springs. When I let the clutch out I don't want any slippage.I'm using my original clutch arm too.Someone said his arm wore where it contacted the pusher. No problems for me yet.
