If your crank was balanced
You wouldn't need it. Bike will rev quicker. I was told it would get a couple horses and some didn't. Thought about it with our bikes when the engine was apart but we ride on the street and take trips too so it wouldn't do us any good cause I believe there would be some vibration at certain rpms

It's "not quite" apples to apples but we DID remove Dean's balancer when we installed the Carrillo rods and 6-speed in his ZRX...he also had the crank balanced by Falicon at the same time...He says it only vibrates slightly more than it did before...
I'm going to remove it from the 1361 I'm building also..."he" won't ride it on the street accept maybe to a "street race"...
If you remove it? make SURE you plug the oil supply that goes to it or you will loose oil pressure to your bearings!!!

I left mine out but I wish I had had the entire rotating assembly balanced. Mine is only buzzy in the 1500-2500 range. After that, it feels like a stocker. Got bout 700 miles on it so far. Smooth as ever at highway speeds.

Mine is out, throttle side handlebar vibrates a LOT more, well a LOT compared to before it was taken out. Now the vibration is about the same as the old gsxr1100's. Only really bothers me on long trips, put foam grips on it & they helped a lot. But if you want the most power, take it out.

Left mine in, but got EVERYTHING balance to within 1gm. Major vibration change!!! Soooo smooth......ahhhh The vibration is at a different higher frequency and lower amplitude now. The balancer deals with second level harmonics in the balance. You will not be able to notice ANY performance difference if you take it out. Since you do not ride your bike on the street, it makes NO difference. If you ride on the street, well it still probably wont matter for you.
Your bike will be lighter by about 1 pound though if you leave it out. Then you can still eat 2 Big Mac's!!!!!!!!:d

An engine builder told me he saw gains of 2-3hp on every 12 he tested on his dyno by just removing the balancer.

I have mine removed and had it balanced without it made 3-4 hp and spins up much quicker, I have a filler piece fabricated with three o rings to maintain oil pressure as before mod. There is less vibration without it and made no noticeable difference on the highway. Kevin rode this bike in Florida and can verify this.
Works for me on all three bikes now.

How much is involved to remove this.....
...and how much should I expect to pay to have it done? If it'll give horsepower I'm all for it as long as it doesn't noticeably increase the vibration of the bike.
