If the bike is working (fueling and ignition and etc) the stockers will last 30k miles or even more. And to find spark plugs that are more expensive will be difficult - like ycis said.

Just to make sure the stock plug is (from memory - someone correct if wrong) NGK CR9-EKPA.

I've had them in my 2000 for about 1 yr. I heard several people say they were better, and I was able to get them from clubplug cheaper than then the stock ones from local dealer so I figured what the hell. The bike ran great with 22K miles on the originals and it still runs great on a new set of the iridium so no difference that I can tell. Whould I use them again, probably not. They seem to be too delicate. 2 had broken electrobes during shipping. I can see mishandling them causing issues during installation. I will stick with the stocks from now on.
