502 Boss Hoss vs. ZX-12R ,The Truth will come out in May!!!
That's right, the real story will hit the stands May 28th according to Mark Barnett. Still a few very minor details to work out, but it is a done deal.
He got the video Saturday, and he and I are definitely on the same page as far as what really happened. Finally he knows the real deal just as I have told him in countless e-mails, and on the phone. He really got a kick out of the video.
He is going to print the article as I have written it, and add his own opinions in the article. He has been a super nice guy and I will give him props for being a stand up guy and letting the real story be told. Maybe this will shut the naysayers up once and for all.

FYI
For anyone that is new, or for some reason or another missed all the hoopla, here's the deal.
Last April the trusty old 12R and I took on Monte Warne (creator, and owner of Boss Hoss Motorcycles), and one of his riders on the 502 Boss Hoss. Plus we did one dragrace against the smallblock bike and I let my buddy Daniel ride the 12 on the dragrace because he is about 30lbs. lighter than me. Still at 245lbs. he is no lightweight, but the outcome of all the races was the same. The 12R was the victor.
I took the video of this to the first Gap event and let everyone see it at the dealership on the night of the cookout.
Fast forward to present day - A magazine article came out that told about the most bogus assed story that has ever been written,and it was about that race. The magazine is "Barnetts" and the guy who runs the magazine caught a lot of shit after that article surfaced.Several people on the boards knew the deal, and were e-mailing him telling him what a crock of shit his article was. Finally he and I got hooked up via e-mail, and had one conversation on the phone. I told him he'd been sadly misinformed,and that I had all the proof I needed to back up my story.
He now has in his possesion the video, and an article I wrote detailing how all this got started and what really went down that day. He has been super cool and is going to print the article and add some of his own comments at the beginning or end of my article. After he got the video Saturday he e-mailed me and told me that I had called it like it was, and that he and I were on the same page as far as what happened.
The issue with this article should be in the racks May 28th, and in all honesty I'm kinda stoked about it.
When I read the "Fairy Tale" article that was written about that race I was pissed, and that is the understatement of the year. Well I am thankful that I have been given a chance to get the real story out there in print for all to see. As I've said all along, all the 502 Boss Hoss saw that day was the tailight on the 12R, and my big ass. They say sometimes the truth hurts, well the Boss Hoss fans who said that the 12 couldn't do it need to go get some painkillers.
Never doubt a determined redneck and japanese technology.

I dont get Barnett's Mag in my area. Ive never heard of it either  . I did see the video so I dont need anyone to tell me what happened You will have to scan it in fer us peoples in the sticks in Florida!

green monster, I was fortunate enough to read all of the story last year, and from what I remember (I never saw the video), it was win, win, win for the 12 (and lose, lose, lose for the Boss Hoss). What I can't believe is that it was last April that it all took place. It seems as if it has just taken place.

My narrowest margin of victory was about 3 bike lengths. That was on the 1st run when they rode 2-up on the 502 bike to keep it from spinning.

But after the magazine comes out, and I get some time, I'm gonna get it all converted to an mpeg. The video is only a few minutes long.

pete 7r I'm not sure if you are addressing Ninjaman1R, green monster, or all 12 owners; but as the 12 rarely gets its just due, and as Ninjaman's 12 whipped up on the Boss Hoss posse (perhaps I should write Boss Hoss pussy), at least let us have til the Barnett's July/August issue is written, published, and distributed before you suggest, order, or command that we, "...get over it already..." Thanks!

Hell dude its NEW to some of us...... First I ever heard of it.... Besides if I was on a 7R I would be worrying more on how to get a bigger better bike than telling people to get over it..... But this is just my opinion....... Not necessarly the opinion of everyone but some 12 owners may agree.......

VIDEO!!!
If the video is on 8mm I can convert it to mpeg!!!
It takes 200+megs per minute of video right out of the camera but...I can also compress say 20-second clips (50+megs) into less than 5megs for E-mail size that still looks good on screen
