Motorcycle Cruiser mag. said I`m scum
According to the april issue of Cycle World, page 34 in the Roundup section the editors of Motorcycle Cruiser pulled all firearm ads and refered to gun owners as scum. Well they can kiss my scummy ass.

I have a few firearms myself. Wonder what the next issue of American Rifleman will have to say. Wish I were buying that magazine so I could stop.

maybe i should write to them asking what kind of scum her great great grandparents who (if they were here on this side of the world) probably used GUNS to fight in a quaint little war known as the revolutionary....
and i know i would get the standard feminazi reply of something to affect of that 'times have changed'
but hey...i guess times ARE better now, i mean people can walk in the park after dark with no fear of being molested, you can leave your 7-Eleven unlocked even when no one is there to protect it, and everything will be alllll right. noone EVER gets their house broken in to anymore (except in England where its against the law to protect yourself, poor schmuck who saved his and his wife and his kids from intruder by shooting him is now in the slammer for it)
yup modern america is safe for all of us to live in harmony.
never mind that after 9/11 gun sales jumped as people realized that maybe this world isnt safest after all...
never mind that in states that had large changes in gun laws, like foriduh, allowing more ownership and ease of licensing for concealed carry, experienced violent crime decline. it appears the cowardly criminals prefer unarmed and docile targets. lets see if that magazine's editor leaves her house unlocked out of good will towards others....
sorry..i just hate self righteous STUPID people with no clue, no history, and no common sense.
PS if you want a fully automatic weapon, all the trimmings, for a measly 300 bucks or so, go to england.....i hear the getting is good there.....

I'm a Sportsman. I own a few gun's. A couple for home protection and 6 long gun's for hunting.
How many magazine's do they own? And what's there name's?

That is very old news. Jamie Elvidge made some not too well thought out comments in making a comparison to the loud pipe "controversey" some time early last year in Cruiser mag (of which she is the very competent editor). She later cleared it up in the magazine, with the NRA and all previously concerned parties. Everybody is now happy and all is forgiven. Go check the back issues. It was quite a big deal for a while but no harm was intended. Much was taken out of context.

So Cycle World drops the ball AGAIN?
I remember Greg Harrison making a comment about a men's magazine and how they were "anti-motorcycle". I had a pleasant e-mail exchange with the editor of that magazine. Harrison's comments were a TOTAL distortion of what was actually published.
Here again, CW prints "facts" about something that is both "old" news and long since been resolved. Go figure. I believe that CW is the SAME "fine publication" who's testers measure wind speed by throwing dirt in the air and clocking it with a radar gun (re: WE TEST THE ZX12R)!
I've been a subscriber to CW for over a decade, but I have grown weary of such disregard for facts and circumstances. Both in their testing and in their editorial comments. I've long since given up on trying to defend this magazine as any sort of worth while effort in motorcycle journalism.
I think it has gotten to the point where I need to just "forget" to renew that subscription. If I want monthly bullshit, I'll just get remarried!

In the October issue, the "Rumblings" column (which is where they print readers' letters) contained a bunch of negative feedback letters over allowing a men's magazine & firearm advertising in the mag. It was the typical line (this is a motorcycle magazine, I & my friends don't like guns & don't want to see ads, don't promote chicks & guns, etc.) and I wasn't getting too upset until I read the editor's (Jamie Elvidge) comments as follows:

My source on this is VERY reputable and his source was the author of the article. Actually, it wasn't THE article on the 12R. It was the one of the last short blurbs they printed about their 12R top speed run.

What do you expect from the cruiser community?? Doesn't that include the Harley types? I'm glad they think I am scum. Although I'd like to see them call me that while looking down the barrel of my model 29.
