The ZZR-1200 still does IF you are an anal-retentive and think that your cams are supposed to be able to pass concours inspection with regard to visual qualities.

So far as a ZZR cam ACTUALLY having a problem that would actually interfere with service, no such pic has ever been posted so far as I can tell, nor any solid evidence that it's ever happened. So far as I can tell it's just pissy owners that don't understand that some cams (very hard cams typically) can experience acid etching, this had been true for a long time, and is not a problem -- except to Kawasaki that has to deal with these pissy owners, and also a problem in that some mechanics, I would think those that haven't been around very long, have never seen it before so they actually think there is a problem as soon as they see the tiniest pit. BTW at least some small aircraft engine cams do this too. There's a service spec for it and it's pretty tolerant.

But a number of ZZR owners are very upset about it and there is no reasoning with them on it: I've tried and so have others including several with tons of experience -- to no avail, they "paid a premium price" (in their own minds) and "won't put up with 'inferior' cams."
