Strange gauge problem.
In the last couple of weeks my gauges have started acting strangely, while riding the tach and speedo needle will start swinging, the clock and the trip odometers will reset, the temp gauge will light up and flash all the segments and the fuel gauge will max out. Bike runs completely normal for the 4 or 5 seconds this is going on. Sorry for the long post, but any help on this will be greatly appreciated. The dealer has no idea what it may be.

Could be anything from a loose Posi, or Neg cable lead off the battery, to a loose/just touching ground wire that connects to the dash.
Remove battery cables and clean.
Inspect wire harness ground wires to the dash panel. Turn key on, then gently push and pull on dash wire harness. Pull up, down, and sideways. Note panel flicker?
Wires are soldered at an intersect. This is inside the wire harness you can't see, short of cutting the plastic covering. Sometimes a wire will break off, and just touch where it was once soldered in place.
The way you describe that the whole dash is dancing, and not isolated to one, or the other (as in the Tach needle just swings, not the Speedo), it sounds like a ground needs re-anchoring.
