Is it a PCIIIR
I know I've seen a post somewhere that discussed the way to tell if you had a PCIII that was actually a PCIIIR. Does anyone know what wires you had to look for?

Try loading a map that HAS timing in it...if it is accepted then you DO have an "R"...

No... PCIII's will take ignition tables too. They just don't know how to use them. The easiest way to tell is to retard the hell out of your timing in the 100% column and get on a dyno or turn on your ass dyno and see if you lose a whole bunch of power.
There are a couple of ways to tell if you definitely have a PCIII. The early PCIII's don't have the brown and brown/white wires in the harness. All PCIIIr's have these wires however so do some later PCIII's.
If you have the brown and brown/white wires in your harness and they are shorted together. ~0 ohms. Then you definitely have a PCIII. If not you may have a PCIIIr or a PCIII.
The only real way to tell is to move the timing and see if it affects it. If you bought a PCIII it is probably a PCIII even if it is mislabeled.
