How to keep a big 12 cool?

Just curious if anyone had any ideas on how to keep
a 1270+ big bore/stroker cool in the Texas Summer.

My 2000 12 use to pop the red mark in traffic and I
am sure it will do it easily with a larger engine.

Here are some of my ideas, but I do not know which
will work if any.
1. Dual fans: anybody do it on a 2000 and how?
2. Cooler fan temp switch: anybody know of any?
3. High volume oil pump gear/pressure valve: does anybody make it ?
4. No thermostat/Cooler thermostat: anybody gone that way or make one?

Any other Ideas most welcome.

No thermostat is a VERY bad idea.

How did you end up running in "the mile"?

experience is not on a 12, but it might be of some significance

traffic the yzf would swing by 100c pretty fast. Fans on, it would drop to 80, fan off, back to 100

i would try a manual fan switch IN PARALLEL with your automatic fan switch. Don't disable the automatic.

When approaching town, flip the switch on. If that's not enough you might try another fan, or see if someone is making an oversized radiator for that bike.

Also water-wetter has helped the temperature as well.

I have a 2000 zx12 with the 1270 kit ,also a muzzy fan plus i have the fan wired up so i can turn it on when i want it. I also run the liquid ice in the radiator. It has cooled it very little it still gets warm when you get into traffic, once i get moving it drops back down. The dual fans would be nice but its a different set up,the engine mounts are different on the 2002.But if you find a way to cool it give me a call.

Yep, the water wetter/distilled water and 1 cup of glycol trick does wonders.

A agree with the manual switch. The problem with the stock sensor is it allows things to start cooking before it kicks the fan on. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I didn't have any luck finding an aftermarket radiator for the A1, and even if there was there are physical limitations on space. Not much additional room for more cooling surface.

A Muzzy aluminum fan will draw more air than the stock plastic one too.

Edit: Oops - we cross posted kwik...

Howdy, sorry you didn't get to see much. Hope to see you down for
the Texas Shoot Out and maybe the Mile. Couple turbo Busa's went 210
and 215.

I went 150ish on a shucked valve, my last run. Exhuast valve decided to leave the stem
and hang out with the piston.

Looking at going with 1270 or 1375 hope that'll get me that extra 4 mph
to 200. Just looking for ways to keep it cool on the street here in TX. I unfortunetly
know a little more on Busas than my own 12.

Them engine mounts don't make things easy.

The lower thermostat sensor would realy help, along with a manual switch.

If Anybody gets the scoop on a lower thermostat sensor pass it on will have to
check and see if a busa is the same size and thread.

I need to check pitch/diameter and see if anything will work.
