OK, here are the granite pics
Well, the granite is finally installed, things are really starting to come together now. The installer was late yesterday, way late so he has to come back today to put in the backsplash and window sill but the main part is done and looks fantastic. All the wall area that will be above the 4" granite backsplash will be tiled all around the window and up to the crown molding. The crown is not installed yet becuase the didn't send enough of it, should be here on the 4th and then it will be installed. There will also be tile on the support wall I built out the back of the island. Now only another month or two or work on the house and I may get to relax for a bit before I get started on building the new dining room table and a few other furniture pieces.

Thanks for fixing JIm.
The Maple Cabinets came 1st Vincent. I chose the lighter granite because the cab's are darker and the floor is darker. It looks sweet, seeing it in person is much better than pics taken at 10pm. The new stainless island light is going to make it though, installing that this weekend. It hangs down from the ceiling over the island and has three lights and spans a length of 46", very very cool.

Fish, the black cord is the power line for the undercabinet light that's on the 12" upper cabinet to the left of the sink. That will be covered because there will be a piece of crown molding that will connect the two sides. The cabinet company shorter me two 8' long pieces of crown and base, they should be here on the 4th. After that the crown molding will go up and that will take the cabinets right to the ceiling. It's going to look great.
Kawasabi you have the Santa Cecelia too? It's really nice stone, I'm very happy with it.

I just noticed the floors, yes, very dark almost Old English. An Island Light is almost a Necessity and may do wonders for everything. Just a personal taste to have a lighter Kitchen with natural Maple as opposed to stained. (When my food hits the floor, I want to see it )

The floor has a Gunstock stain on it. They were prefinished. When I installed them. That was a freaking backbreaker!
Natural Maple is to light for me in the kitchen. I did build a beautiful Hall table for a neighbor two years ago that had Walnut Legs and Aprons and a Curly Maple top. I just oiled the top and added a couple coats of Arm R Seal. Now that was a beautiful piece, I really didn't want to give it to her when I was done.

Otis, one thing for sure, who ever gets this house will be happy when you get finished getting it ready for them I still cannot believe you left the other place knowing all of the work you were going to do. I NEEDED a Newer longer Astro Van after I hit a deer at 70. I got tired just thinking about all of the work I would need to do just so I would feel safe in it! Paid $3,500 for a 1998 wqith 63,000 miles. Mechanical excellent and looks like they used a Wagner Power painter and House paint. Nothing fits right and I have changed oil twice and both times the Oil came out black. (At least this last time the new opul did not turn black Immediatley. (2 changes on the Brake and Power steering fluid and now they are almost clear. The difference here is I had no choice and worse yet, just got out of Debt and had to charge $3,500 for that rag

I don't know Capt10 but you better get your wallet open if she's anything like mine. LOL The 4" backsplash is installed now and also the granite windowsill, boy that looks nice. I picked up the tile last night for the wall between the basksplash and the cabinets and also for the island. It's going to be sweet when that is done. I installed hte crown molding last weekend and that just makes the cabinets, just awesome. I am hoping to get the tile in this weekend and I'll post some "DONE!" pics next week.
