Shock Adjustment

How far can one tighten the preload down on the rear shock? So far I have tightened it about 1/4", is it possible to overtighten it? Thanks in advance.

I have my shock turned 7 times clockwise on a 60" wheelbase bike, its more than a 1/4 inch...It much better now, the tire only hits the fender when the shock is cold in 55 degree temps, until the shock gets warmed up!!!

How many times did you turn it???...How much you weigh and whats your wheelbase???

Well, I am 250 or so pounds, have 4-7" extensions on the swingarm and the axle is out probably 6-6.5 inches. I am not sure how many turns I got. I wouldn't think more than 2 or 3 tops, if that many. I wanted to ask a few questions before I went any further.

Go another 6 turns clockwise, before you do mark an area on the colar with a black permanent marker...Is your tire hitting the fender???...Do you have a tigertail???
