you're dealing with physics. In the power to wieght ratio Lose about 100lbs. then lose another by buying you a zx10.
Why is you sig line "1999 retired busa pos"? Just curious.
Just a quick calculation shows that he has 1 hp to every 2.5 lbs, you on the other hand have 4.6 lbs per hp. Rest assured your getting beat by a VERY small pilot on a very fast bike. This wont be possible until you intervene with the #s. How about filling his tires with cement? I heard that around here the other day and laughed.
Not trying to bust your balls, but really, other than power adders, I'm not sure which one you would use. I forgot the #s, but with the weight of you and the 12, you're loosing about 40 hp(pre-dyno).
Which hindle are you using? Stepped?

He's too light and has too much hp...you aren't going to get there without serious horsepower.

Well, do whatever you can to your bike, set-up a race with him somewhere near north Florida, then show up to it with a cast on your arm. Let me fill in for you and I'll deal with him.

NN, you say "LET", women these days pick their bikes, I'd say if she's riding a 12, she more than likely knows how to ride. Maybe she's tall and don't like the cramped bikes? Sounds like the lucky gentleman has the best of both worlds> two 12s and a wife that rides.
Not to pry, but can your wife race? If she's around 100lbs or say, have her spank his ass. Chances are that mr gixxer will take her lightly and get smoked by yourwife. The gixxer still has the advantage, but your wife has nothing to lose. Besides, everytime mr gixxer opens his mouth, you can tell him that your wife spanked his ass!
Think you could've taken him on your busa?

Put a Stroker, Wet Nitrous or Turbo kit on your bike, and you'll be okay

Considering I'm not even a drag racer, I've only drag raced twice in my life, on a bike that burns oil(20w50 at that!), with over 21,000 miles on the motor, the original spark plugs, original clutch, original chain and sprockets, not lowered, strapped, or extended, only mod is exhaust and PCIII without even dyno tuned I prolly SHOULDN'T be in the 9's.
And I certainly don't recall him saying DRAG racing or even stating any 1/4 times him or the other guy is running. So I took it as racing in general, as in go out to an open road and he who is fastest is out in front, roll-ons, 2nd gear to top speed runs, etc...
Plus the statement was mostly only a joke anyways because I'm a lightweight myself, hence the at the end. Are we tracking now ?

My wife is 5ft 10 inch's tall and weighs 140. We do alot of track days with our bikes. She's been riding bikes for the last 6 years. Her first bike was a 700 nighthawk S. Then she graduated to a zx11 and for the last 5 years rides a zx12.
I use to own a 99 busa that was eventually built by Lee Shierts. In the first year of ownership the motor grenaded twice. The first time was the cam chain tensioner. The next time was when the dealership finally replaced the first engine forgot to put locktight and the counterbalancer bolt. The result was the bolt backing out and the counterbalancer turning up into the crank. Boom this happened two weeks after i got my bike back and 4 days out of manufacturers warrenty. Long story short ( the dealership washed there hands of me and said it was rider abuse. I took the damaged motor to several mechanics in the area but none of them would represent me in court. ( fear of the large dealership).
Lee Shierts built me a stage 3 engine and it rocked. However, with pc issues and the engine eventually making a knocking sound at 1200 rpm's only. I decided to trade it for a zx12 since my wifes bike ran perfectly.
My wife also drag races. I'll let her race the skinny fellow and see what happens!

Let's get real, here are the ways that is possible to win.......
1) Run heads up and hope he messes up while you run a perfect pass.
2) Get a jokey, on your bike and get the break or hope he messes up.
3) Let your wife try, with 2 bike and the break. (maybe more than two bikes depending how good she leaves) what is her 1/8 or 1/4 times?
4) More than likely, you will not be able to beat this guy, as state above, you have a physics problem. Your package, bike plus you, is just too heavy. Weight vs HP. Just do a roll on against your wife........... You will see or already know.
5) Oh, get your 330 times under 4.3 in the 1/8, then ask for the break, he probably wont be able to catch you in time, but it will be close. He can probably run some 6.0's or better in the 1/8 and that for you is not possible with 165 HP and street trim. Racing is great fun, but some folks can only be beat by certain folks in the same skill class with the same level of bike. But, I feel your pain though........ Maybe you can PM me and this guy can be "set-up" for a race that will SURPRISE him......hehehe

KWS is the name of the shop in Charleston, SC that likes to ONLY work on suzuki's. Generally speaking there aren't any KWS bikes that are winning any grudge races. So, frankly, the dyno sheet means nothing. The guys name is Kevin, he also sells kits and stuff for the bikes.

Pull one of his plugs.
Sounds like your buddy has a very nice package, that will be very hard to beat.
180 hp @ ~500 lbs WOW. he is a terror.
Best way to handle him is to stay out of his way.

like he said weight to power ratio is all that matters (granted the skills are alike)for example i have two friends both with K51000 gixxers one weighs 115LBS the other 175LBS the guy weighing in at 175LBS had to shave the cylinder deck (for higher compression),full AKRA system and $20 a gallon race fuel just to keep up with him.there are many equations and philosophies about this subject. however the closest we figure is it takes 1 horse for every 8LBS of diference.

That sounds like a pisspoor horsepower number, I would thought it shoulda been in the high 170 range.

the reason I ask is because i have simular mods. who did your map?
are you running the crank case vaccuum mode or the Kleen air removed?
With your set up, you should easily bee in the 175 range. What kind of dyno?

That's all good L2M. But even if she can ride, doesn't mean that anyone that rides a 12 CAN RIDE. Size of bike doesn't mean the individual can "RIDE". Not talking of his wife, just talking about anyone.
